- the formation of ovaries even in cold weather;
- long fruiting;
- the period from the emergence of shoots to the collection of eggplant – 67 days;

The average yield of the variety is 5,8 kg per 1 sq. m. Elastic pulp and dark skin testify to the maturity of the fruit. Vegetables are cut with secateurs along with the stalk. The Clorinda variety is used for preparing snacks, side dishes, and home canning.
Growing eggplant
Clorinda eggplant is grown in seedlings. Seedlings do not tolerate sudden changes in temperature, so planting seeds immediately into the ground is possible only in regions with a warm climate. At home, seeds are planted, and the plants are provided with the necessary conditions. The grown seedlings are transferred to an open area, to a greenhouse or greenhouse.
Planting seeds
Planting work begins at the end of February or in March. A substrate is prepared for eggplant seedlings, consisting of peat, compost, turf and sand in a ratio of 6: 2: 1: 0,5. You can use ready-made soil sold in gardening stores.
Before planting the Clorinda variety, the soil is steamed in a water bath to disinfect it and eliminate possible pathogens. The soil can be left for the winter at sub-zero temperatures, then additional processing is not required.
It is best to choose small cups or cassettes for planting. Then you can avoid picking plants.
Seeds are planted in moist soil to a depth of 1 cm. A layer of fertile soil or peat is poured on top. The containers are covered with a film and left at a temperature of 25 ° C. Germination of eggplant seeds takes 10-15 days.
seedling conditions
After the appearance of sprouts, the film is removed, and the plantings are kept on a windowsill or other lighted place.
Conditions for the development of eggplant seedlings Clorinda:
- temperature during the day 20-25 °С, at night – 16-18 °С;
- supply of fresh air;
- protection from drafts;
- moderate watering;
- lighting for 12-14 hours.
Clorinda eggplant seedlings are watered with warm water. Moisture is applied after the soil has dried. Plants react negatively to waterlogging.
If the daylight hours are not long enough, additional lighting is turned on above the plants. At a distance of 30 cm from the seedlings, fluorescent or phytolamps are installed. They are turned on in the morning or in the evening to provide full coverage.
When 1-2 leaves appear in seedlings, a pick is carried out. The most gentle method of transplantation is the transshipment of plants in larger containers. Eggplants are watered and carefully transferred to a new dish along with an earthy clod.
Hardening them will help to improve the survival rate of eggplants in a permanent place. Plants are kept on the balcony for several hours, this period is gradually increased. So the seedlings will get used to temperature extremes and direct sunlight.
Landing in the ground
Clorinda eggplants are transferred to a permanent place at the age of 2-2,5 months. Such plants have up to 10 leaves, and reach a height of 25 cm. Work is carried out in late May – early June.
For planting eggplant, choose a sunny place, protected from the wind. The best predecessors for culture are: cabbage, cucumber, garlic, onions, carrots, beans, peas, zucchini.
Plants prefer sandy or loamy soil. Heavy soil is fertilized with peat, humus and coarse sand. In the fall, the soil is dug up, and in the spring its surface is loosened with a rake and wood ash is added.
Under the Clorinda variety, planting holes are prepared, which are located at a distance of 30 cm from each other. They are watered abundantly, after which eggplants are planted without breaking an earthen clod. The roots are covered with earth, which is well compacted.
After planting eggplant, monitor the moisture content of the soil. To maintain it, mulching with peat is performed.
eggplant care
Eggplant Clorinda requires regular care, including watering and top dressing. Plants respond well to the introduction of mineral and organic substances.
According to the description, Clorinda F1 eggplants reach 1 m in height. As the plants develop, they are tied to a trellis. On the bush, the strongest shoot is chosen, the rest are removed. To protect against diseases and pests, preventive spraying of plantings is carried out.
Watering
Eggplant is a moisture-loving crop, therefore, in order to obtain a high yield, it is necessary to regularly water the plantings. After transfer to a permanent landing site, do not water for 5-7 days. During this period, plants adapt to new conditions.
Before fruiting, moisture is applied in moderation every week. The intensity of watering is increased during the formation of fruits. In the heat, moisture is applied every 3-4 days. For irrigation take settled water at a temperature of 25-30 ° C.
After watering, the greenhouse is ventilated to eliminate excess moisture. Be sure to loosen the soil to prevent the appearance of a crust on the surface. Weeds are periodically weeded.
Feeding
According to reviews, Clorinda F1 eggplant responds positively to top dressing. Treatments are carried out every 2-3 weeks.
Eggplant feeding options:
- a solution of potassium sulfate (5 g), urea and superphosphate (10 g per 10 l of water);
- ammophoska or nitrophoska (20 g per 10 l);
- manure slurry 1:15;
- spraying plants with a weak solution of boric acid;
- infusion of wood ash (250 g per bucket of water).
At the beginning of the growing season, eggplants are fed with slurry or mineral fertilizers containing nitrogen. In the future, you need to increase the concentration of potassium and phosphorus in the solution. These components are necessary for the formation of the root system of plants and improve the taste of fruits.
Mineral treatments alternate with the introduction of natural products. In cool weather, the plants are sprayed on the leaf. For foliar treatment, the concentration of substances is reduced by 5 times.
Diseases and pests
Eggplants are susceptible to fungal and viral diseases. The Clorinda variety is immune to viral diseases. Fungal infections are more often observed at high humidity.
Disinfection of seeds before planting, garden tools and soil helps to prevent diseases. When signs of damage appear, the plants are sprayed with Fitosporin or Zircon preparations.
Aphids, spider mites, slugs may appear on plants. After flowering, it is recommended to treat eggplants with Karbofos or Keltan preparations. From folk remedies, tobacco dust and wood ash are effective. They are sprayed on plants to repel pests.
