Educational etiquette: how to properly share food

The rules of conduct at the table stipulate how you can share your food. And those who are not delighted with picking at their plate with someone else’s fork must definitely learn them. Food exchange is not just an aesthetically unpleasant process for someone – it is also an exchange of bacteria and saliva. And if your relationship is not related, then this will inevitably cause a feeling of disgust.

First course

If you ordered different types of soup in a restaurant, then it is forbidden to try from someone else’s plate with your own spoon. First courses are for personal use.

French fries

Carrying fries from each other is a common thing. However, this should be done only after asking permission and no more than 3 slices. Otherwise, order yourself a separate portion.

Burgers and sandwiches

You can safely give your child or another relative a bite to eat. In any other case, you should cut off a small piece on a plate, pinning it onto a friend’s fork. More than once asking to try a burger is ugly.

Nuggets, wings, sushi, chips, popcorn, pizza

As with fries, you can ask to try similar fast food. But if you know in advance that such a situation will happen, just order several types of different finger food for the whole company, and then everyone will eat what they like best.

Dessert

This is the most popular category of food that everyone wants to try from each other’s plates. And if you do not have common utensils at home, then you can treat a friend only by cutting off a piece and transferring it to him on a plate. Still, the section of desserts is considered an ugly gesture, it is desirable that everyone enjoy it on their own.

Beverages

The hygiene rule says – everyone has their own bottle. Water or other drinks are those foods that everyone can afford. As a last resort, suggest trying your cocktail through a disposable cocktail tube.

Chaw

And this is the only product that should definitely be shared. If you took out the pack in front of everyone, then you should offer the gum to everyone around you. If there are a lot of people interested, you have the right to take the first pillow – after all, you bought it out of need. But before you treat yourself to chewing gum, think carefully, do you need it or are you going to chew out of boredom?
