Each loaf contains 336: cricket bread is sold in Britain

Back in 2013, the UN recognized insects as the food of the future, and statistics for 2018 showed that more than 2 billion people in the world eat insects every year. They are high in protein and this type of food is the most environmentally friendly.

Therefore, it is not surprising that companies specializing in the production of insect products are gaining popularity. One of these is the British We are Grub. The company recently launched the limited edition Crunchy Cricket bread, which combines wheat flour, water and dried crushed crickets to create an “extremely tasty loaf with a crispy finish.”

Experts say that crickets are good for gut health and contain many nutrients, which means that bread made from these insects is higher in protein than regular bread. And even earlier it was found that crickets contain five times more antioxidants than freshly squeezed orange juice. They are also useful for bowel function, as their exoskeleton contains a large amount of chitinous fibers.

And the safety of candles for the environment, in contrast to livestock, is manifested in the fact that they feed on biowaste, grow and multiply quickly, consume little water and produce almost no greenhouse gases.

Recall that earlier we talked about burgers with insects, which are also quite popular, and also wrote about Nicole Kidman, who popularizes her fascination with insects as food.
