Talc (Talc, E553b) is a mineral, a crystalline substance, a greasy loose powder.

Chemical formula Mg3Si4O10(OH)2.

Color from white to light green. The quality of talc is determined by its whiteness. For industrial purposes, ground talc, microthalc, etc. are used.

It is used in everyday life as a gasket, powder, so that things do not stick together (in rubber gloves) or do not rub (in shoes as shoe powder), it is used in rubber, paper, paint and other industries (as a filler), in the medical and perfume and cosmetics industries. An important field of application is ceramics (especially radioisolation).
