E1105 Lysozyme

Lysozyme (Lysozyme, muramidase, muramidase, E1105)is a preservative.

Antibacterial agent, an enzyme of the hydrolase class that destroys the cell walls of bacteria by hydrolysis of muramylglucosamine of the cell wall of gram-positive bacteria.

Lysozyme is found primarily in the places where the animal body comes into contact with the environment — in the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract, tear fluid, saliva, nasopharyngeal mucus, etc. In large quantities, lysozyme is contained in saliva, which explains its antibacterial properties.
