Duspatalin is a drug used in functional disorders of the digestive tract. It is a preparation intended for children and adults over 10 years of age, in the treatment of abdominal pain caused by intestinal smooth muscle spasm and functional disorders of the intestines associated with irritable bowel syndrome. The active substance of the drug is mebeverine, which relieves pain. The preparation is in the form of tablets and is available on prescription.

Duspatalin – indications and dosage
Duspatalin is a drug recommended for:
- in the symptomatic treatment of abdominal pain caused by intestinal smooth muscle spasm,
- in the treatment of functional bowel disorders associated with irritable bowel syndrome in adults and children over 10 years of age.
Dosage
Duspatalin is in the form of film-coated tablets and is intended for oral use in children and adults after 10 years of age. The tablets should be swallowed whole (not chewed), washed down with water (at least 100 ml).
- Adults and children after the age of 10: 135 mg (1 tablet) 3 times a day; take 20 minutes before a meal.
Duspatalin and contraindications
Contraindications to taking Duspatalin are:
- hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
- pregnancy,
- the period of breastfeeding.
Duspatalin – warnings
- People with galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not use this medicine because it contains lactose.
- Patients with hereditary problems associated with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency should not use the preparation because it contains sucrose.
- The preparation has not been shown to have a harmful effect on the ability to drive and use machines.
Duspatalin – side effects
Allergic reactions may occur while taking Duspatalin, such as:
- rash,
- hives
- swelling of the face
- angioedema
- anaphylactic reactions.
