Dung bald head is an inedible mushroom that, when consumed, has a hallucinogenic effect on humans. There is little psychotropic substance in the tissues of its fruiting body, so its psychedelic effect is weak. The collection, sale and use of this mushroom on the territory of the Federation is prohibited.

Dung bald head (Deconica merdaria) is one of the inedible hallucinogenic mushrooms without bright external distinguishing features, but with specific characteristics. It belongs to the Gimenogaster family, the genus Dekonika.

There are such synonymous names of Dung Balds:

Cap Description

The cap of the dung bald head is soft, smooth, with thin pulp, has a diameter of 0,8 to 3 cm. In young fruiting bodies, it is compact, bell-shaped, with a tubercle in the center. The edge of the cap is solid, with traces of a common veil. Its color changes depending on the humidity. In a dry environment it is pale ocher, in a wet environment it is yellowish brown. As the fungus grows, the cap straightens out and becomes flat-convex. Its flesh is odorless.

Thin plates with solid edges are first painted in light colors. Then they take on a darker shade. They are adherent, sparse, supplemented with intermediate plates.

The spore-bearing layer is brown, with a whitish edge, compressed, broadly grown. With age, it becomes covered with dark spots. Spores are black, smooth, oval in shape.

Description of the leg

The foot of the dung bald head occupies a central position relative to the cap. It is light yellow in color, cylindrical in shape, and spindle-shaped at the base. Its diameter is 1-3 mm, and its length is 2-4 cm.

Where and how does dung stropharia grow

Stropharia Dung has a wide distribution area. The species grows throughout the world, predominantly in temperate and subarctic climates.

In Our Country, Stropharia Dung is found everywhere on fertile soils with a large amount of decomposed organic matter. The preferred habitat for it is rotted manure.

Fruiting bodies can be found in pastures and meadows that have a slope and end in a wet lowland, especially with traces of manure. Sometimes dung baldness is found in gardens, vegetable gardens.

Important! It is believed that mushrooms containing psilocybin grow poorly beyond the Urals.

Is the mushroom edible or not?

Dung bald head is included in the list of inedible mushrooms classified as hallucinogenic species. Its fruiting bodies contain substances that have a psychedelic effect on the central nervous system.

The impact of dung baldness on the human psyche

The use of manure baldness can have a psychotropic effect on a person. This is due to the presence in the fruiting bodies of psilocybin, an alkaloid that has the property of inducing consciousness into a borderline state (trip). Within 15 – 20 minutes after its use, a person develops signs resembling the symptoms of taking the drug LSD, which last 4 – 7 hours. The lethal dose of this component is 14 g, and the dose that causes hallucination is 1 – 14 mg.

Attention! Trip (from English – “journey”) – this is the name of the effect of hallucinogenic mushrooms on the psyche. It is long-lasting and provides an opportunity to experience an experience that goes beyond the normal perception of reality.

The psychotropic effect of manure baldness is very insignificant and manifests itself in this way:

  • a person feels bliss, elation, euphoria, or opposite feelings of excitement and anxiety;
  • there are bouts of causeless fun;
  • the surrounding reality is perceived in bright colors, the surfaces acquire amazing outlines;
  • balance and coordination of movements is disturbed;
  • hallucinations, color visions appear;
  • hearing is aggravated;
  • the perception of one’s own body as a whole is distorted;
  • mood changes dramatically – from laughter to fits of horror.
Important! Depending on the psychological state, physical health, life situations, the syndrome caused by the use of hallucinogenic mushrooms can be positive or negative.

Positive emotions after drinking Stropharia dung are expressed in a feeling of all-encompassing happiness and satisfaction. If a person has the prerequisites for mental disorders, then the result will be unforeseen. The negative influence of mushroom hallucinogens can manifest itself in unmotivated aggression, rage, hatred. These feelings are directed against the person himself. Such a dangerous condition leads to suicidal actions.

A contraindication to the use of manure baldness is a depressed, depressed, anxious emotional state, which under the influence of these mushrooms will only intensify and will have consequences that are unpredictable for a person. A side effect of taking fruiting bodies manifests itself in the form of a disruption in the digestive system: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, spasms.

Attention! In children with psilocybin mushroom poisoning, the temperature rises, digestive tract disorders occur, dizziness and symptoms of mental disorders appear. In especially severe situations, a coma may occur.

Prohibition on the collection and consumption of dung baldness

The fruiting body of the dung bald head contains a small amount of psilocybin, which causes hallucinations. Bans have been imposed on hallucinogenic mushrooms in different countries of the world:

  1. In the UK – for the storage, distribution, use of psilocybin fruiting bodies: they are classified as class A substances.
  2. In the United States – for the storage and use of bald dung, which is listed in Schedule I, based on the 1971 UN Convention on Psychotropic Substances.
  3. In the Netherlands – to distribute and use only dried psychedelic mushrooms. The restriction does not apply to fresh fruiting bodies.
  4. In Europe, they are introducing a gradual tightening on the cultivation, collection and use of psilocybin representatives.

However, in some European countries, such as Austria, the use of fresh psychotropic mushrooms is still not prohibited.

Important! 25 species of mushrooms have a hallucinogenic effect, most of them are representatives of the genera Psilocybe (Psilocybe) and Stropharia (Stropharia).

In the Federation, at the legislative level, a ban on the circulation of mushrooms containing psilocybin, which includes dung bald head, is regulated:

  1. The Criminal Code of the Federation (Article 231) prohibits the cultivation of plants containing psychotropic substances.
  2. The Code of Administrative Offenses of the Federation (Article 10.5) contains a rule that non-destruction of plants with narcotic components in the composition entails a fine.
  3. According to the Decree of the Government of the Federation No. 681 (dated June 30.06.1998, XNUMX) “On approval of the list …” psilocybin and psilocin are included in the list of substances controlled on the territory of the Federation.
  4. By Decree of the Government of the Federation N 934 (dated November 27.11, 2010), psilocybin-containing mushrooms are classified as plants subject to control on the territory of the Federation.
Important! In the Federation, it is forbidden to use, distribute and grow dung bald head.

Twins and their differences

Dung Lysina has an outward resemblance to other mushrooms that grow on manure and have the same psychotropic properties. The main difference is that in a mature specimen of the dung bald head, the cap becomes open and flat.

Twins of Stropharia dung are also inedible and have a hallucinogenic effect:

  1. Stropharia is shitty, it is also called “poop’s bald head”.
