How to cook dumplings in a double boiler: step by step instructions
To cook dumplings in a double boiler, you will need: – beef – 0,2 kg; – pork – 0,2 kg; – onion; – flour – 0,4 kg; – egg; – water – 0,1 l; – spices for taste.
The meat must be thoroughly rinsed, dried, and then cut into small cubes, and then grind in a meat grinder. Then you need to add to the minced onion, previously cut into four parts, and send the mass back to the meat grinder. The resulting mixture must be pepper, salt, and then mix thoroughly.
To prepare the dough, you need to mix the sifted flour with water, egg and salt, this way you will be able to knead the dough, which then needs to be left for about 15-20 minutes. Then you need to roll out the dough thinly and cut small circles in it. Place the filling on each of them, then fold the circle in half and carefully pinch all the edges.
The simplest thing left is to directly cook the dumplings in a double boiler. It is necessary to place the stuck together dumplings in a double boiler, and then cook them for 15 minutes. When the dumplings are cooked, they need to be laid out on a plate, and a small piece of slightly melted butter should be placed on top and, if desired, garnished with herbs.
How to cook pork dumplings in a double boiler
Pork dumplings are very popular in Russia. For the recipe you will need: – 600 grams of wheat flour; – 1 egg; – 0,2 liters of water; – 1 teaspoon of salt; – 1,5 kilograms of pork; – 3-4 onions.
The meat must be cut into small pieces and mixed in a meat grinder with onions, peeled and cut into pieces beforehand. Add spices to your taste to the resulting mixture.
As a spice, it is recommended to add 1-1,5 teaspoons of salt and a couple of pinches of ground black pepper to the minced meat
Sift the flour thoroughly, and then add the egg, salt to it and knead the hard dough. If everything was done correctly, the dough will not stick to your hands. It needs to be cut into three equal parts, one of which will need to be rolled out quite thinly and cut out of small circles.
On each circle, you need to lay out the filling, and then fold it in half and form a dumpling, pinching all its edges. With the rest of the pieces of dough, you must do the same. In addition, you need to prepare cutting boards in advance for placing dumplings, namely sprinkle them with flour.
To prepare dumplings, pour the required amount of water into the steamer, and then evenly distribute the dumplings between the compartments. After the water boils, you need to steam the dumplings for about 30 minutes. Sour cream, ketchup, and garlic sauce are perfect for the finished dish.
