In an interview with Woman’s Day, the famous French nutritionist told why we get fat and where the fattest people live.

But recently, the situation in the United States has improved, the numbers have stopped growing. A class of people emerged who began to resist unhealthy lifestyles. These are politicians, actors. The slimmest people live on the west coast of America – in Los Angeles, San Francisco. In these cities, the culture of the body is developed, people run a lot, go surfing. And in the center of the country the situation is sad: in some regions, the percentage of overweight is approaching one hundred. The Russians did not make it into the top ten “complete” nations. But they are moving towards obesity at a fairly rapid pace, like other countries where there is economic growth.
If we analyze society, look at its “engine”, then we can see that in “complete” countries the function of a person has been reduced to two things – he is either a seller or a buyer, that is, a producer or a consumer. Poetry, literature, aesthetics – they all disappear. The world is complex today. It is not profitable for society that you are happy for free. You should definitely buy something – an iPhone or another expensive toy. These things do not bring deep happiness. To get satisfaction from happiness, it must be recognized as the primitive part of the brain that is responsible for it. Serotonin, which brings satisfaction, is produced when everything is in order with our family in our life, we find love in it, with our home – when it is beautiful and protects us, when we move, communicate with nature, engage in spiritual practices, physical activity, and so on. Further. Food and play are also included in this list of sources of pleasure. But the games that people used to have are now replaced by gadgets and TVs. It is not profitable for society that we seek happiness in free things, and it leaves us only those areas where we can buy it. In a consumer society, people are cut off from the free source of happiness and therefore begin to slide into alcoholism, eat a lot, use a lot of antidepressants. These numbers are growing every year. As a medic, I noticed that unhappy people start to eat more.
I created the classic diet in cooperation with my patients, who really wanted to lose weight and do it quickly. They were ready to wait in line for several months to get to see me, pay for consultations several times. These people had very strong motivation. When I wrote the book and it spread all over the world, in front of me were not patients, but readers – people who need to lose less than 10 kilograms and without harm to their social life – parties, dinners with friends. They did not have the same urge to lose weight as my patients did and could not afford to diet for more than three days. For them, I have developed a new soft technique – the “nutrition ladder”. If you cannot withstand the “attack”, and 8-9 kg are preventing you from reaching your ideal weight, then the “ladder” is a very convenient and effective way to lose weight. In the first week, you will become lighter by 1200 g, in the second – by another kilogram, in the third week it will take 900, in the fourth – 800, and then you will lose 700 g for every next seven days. You can follow this program as long as you want until you achieve the desired result. And then you have to consolidate the success, that is, adhere to the stages of “consolidation” and “stabilization” from my classical method.
I use natural sweeteners from stevia leaf extract. Both stevia and other similar foods are not dangerous. Yes, the persecution of sweeteners is underway. Rumor has it that all these horror stories are ordered by the manufacturers of sweet products. Be that as it may, no research has proven that this supplement is harmful.
Whether you have such problems or not depends on your age and physiological characteristics. During the diet, it is very important to remember to walk for at least 20 minutes every day. And if you want to pull up, then you need to add exercise to walking. Just four: do dumbbell breeding from the chest to the sides, exercises for triceps, swing the press, raising your legs or pulling up to your knees, squat. Do every day, but not exhausting yourself, but doing 20 repetitions per exercise, that is, you will get 80 movements. You will spend six minutes a day on them. If you have reached your ideal weight, but fat deposits on the abdomen and sides prevent you from living, you will have to deal with them with the help of special wraps, mesotherapy and other procedures.
When a person plays sports, his brain begins to produce serotonin – the hormone of happiness, which gives energy, and this in turn – the desire to move on. So sports can help. But there is danger. If you work out very well, you will leave the hall with a mad desire to eat something here and now, and it can be a sandwich or another dish that is not healthy for your figure. Then all efforts will come to naught. Therefore, if you decide to exercise, get ready, take with you yogurt or some other protein food, a meal made from slow carbohydrates.
