Dry vermouth

Coming to us from Italy, dry vermouth is an ideal ingredient for creating alcoholic cocktails. Its light tart taste is appetizing, which is why vermouth is popular as an aperitif.

The unique spice of dry vermouth

Dry vermouth is a slightly tart fortified wine that is flavored with various spicy plants. Such wines were made in ancient times. There is a version according to which Hippocrates himself (5-4 centuries BC) took part in the creation of vermouth. Industrial production of dry vermouth was launched in 1786 in Turin, Italy. The founder of the company was Antonio Benedetto Carpano. An interesting fact is that dry vermouth has long been used as an “elixir of tranquility.”

To create drinks, dry vermouth is an indispensable component, as it can make a cocktail quite tender. This is due to the low alcohol content, because the strength of the drink is 17%.
