Dry skin on fingers: what to do? Video
Dry, rough hands look unkempt and cracked fingers can be very painful. You can get rid of problems at home with the help of nourishing creams, baths, wraps and masks.
Dry and chapped skin treatment
To tidy up very dry and painful skin on your hands, you will need:
- hot manicure lotion
- starch
- glycerol
- plastic gloves
- terry mittens
- wax
- nutritious cream
- skin scrub
If you find that the skin of your fingers has begun to peel off, take active measures immediately. Every night, make warm starch baths with 2 tablespoons of starch per liter of water. You can add a teaspoon of glycerin to the bath.
Sprinkle painful cracks with antiseptic powder, which can be purchased at the pharmacy. Continue processing until the cracks heal
It is useful to treat flaky skin with a mild sugar or coffee scrub. Apply a small amount of the scrub to wet hands, massage the brushes and rinse them. After the procedure, be sure to lubricate wet hands with natural shea butter or cocoa butter or nourishing cream. Pay special attention to chapped areas such as your knuckles.
You can get rid of rough skin on your fingers with wax purchased from a pharmacy. Heat it in a water bath, and then dip your fingertips in wax so that the hot mass forms caps on them. Let the wax harden, then peel it off and lubricate your fingers with the cream.
Hot baths with a special lotion containing oils, waxes and glycerin are very useful. Warm up the lotion in a water bath, immerse your hands in it for 10 minutes, then put plastic gloves and terry mittens on your wrists. Sit with the compress for another 15 minutes. After such a procedure, the skin becomes elastic and tender, and cracks and cuts heal.
The hot lotion replaces the traditional cuticle softening bath. After this procedure, do a manicure, it will go away painlessly and quickly.
Supportive care: how to keep your hands beautiful
After intensive procedures, it is necessary to carefully monitor and pay attention to your hands several times a day. It is not enough to apply the cream before bed. You need to soften and moisturize your skin after each wash. Prepare homemade lotion from equal parts rose water and glycerin, add 10 drops of ammonia to the mixture. Place the bottle on the sink. Lubricate your hands after each contact with water – after a few days it will become a habit.
To prevent cracks on your hands, include foods rich in vitamins A and E in your diet: bell peppers, cabbage, olive oil, sea fish, peas and parsley.
Apply a homemade hand mask while watching TV. Liberally grease brushes with petroleum jelly or vegetable oil, wrap with a towel and sit for about half an hour. Then, wash off the mixture and apply a moisturizing lotion enriched with vitamins and herbal extracts. The procedure can be done 1 or 2 times a week, it is especially useful in the cold season.
