Dry red wine will help maintain normal weight in the New Year

American scientists have found that the easiest and most effective, and most importantly, pleasant way to maintain weight on the holidays is to use dry red wine. Scientists have studied the effect of the drink on mice, and presented their research report in the International Journal of Obesity. According to them, the natural drink contains resveratrol in large quantities.

It is a phenolic protective compound that burns absorbed calories and converts unhealthy white fat into harmless brown adipose tissue. The compound gets into natural wine from grapes, which produces a substance to protect against various parasites. Berries – blueberries, raspberries and strawberries – act in the same way in nature. And from the trees – apple trees. Their tissues produce resveratrol to enhance the expression of a gene responsible for the oxidation of dietary fats and their conversion into brown fat. Scientists have tested this theory on rodents, which were given polyphenols in a dose adequate for humans.

After taking the substance, 40% of rodents experienced a decrease in fat levels, which the doctors needed to prove. For a person, an adequate amount of wine to maintain a healthy weight is 340 milliliters per day, or about 3-4 glasses of sauvignon or merlot. Other wines, scientists say, contain resveratrol, but not enough. The compound is poorly soluble and therefore in other beverages, after filtration, the required level of polyphenols can be greatly reduced.
