Drinking coffee strengthens the heart?

Among coffee drinkers the number of reported cases of heart failure was lower by 11% in relation to people who do not drink coffee at all. A beneficial effect has been observed among those who eat up to 4 cups of coffee a day. In the case where the amount of coffee consumed was higher, no similar protective effect was observed, on the contrary. The analyzed research was based on a group of over 120 people.

So far, the cause of the prophylactic effects of coffee has not been known. Scientists speculate that this may be related to a lower risk of type 2 diabetes among coffee drinkers regularly, but in moderate amounts. It is known that type 2 diabetes is one of the factors that increase the possibility of developing heart failure. The researchers note, however, that more research is needed to confirm the effect of coffee on the health of the heart.
