Homemade dried fruit compote cools in summer and warms in winter, enriching the body with useful substances. This drink is able to truly heal by speeding up the restoration of the immune system and vitamin balance after colds and other seasonal illnesses.

The classic recipe for dried fruit compote

Ingredients: – 3 l of water; – 100 g of prunes; – 50 g of dried apricots; – 200 g of dried apples; – 50 g of dried pears; – 50 g of raisins; – 0,5 lemon; – sugar.

If the dried fruit is too hard, overdried, soak them in warm water for 15 minutes

Go through all the dried fruits, rinse them separately under cold water and scald with boiling water. Pour water into a medium saucepan over high heat. Bring the liquid to a boil and dip the apples and pears into it. Reduce the cooking temperature to a minimum, cover the dishes with a lid and cook dried fruits for 20 minutes, then add prunes and dried apricots to them, and after another 20 minutes – raisins.

Simmer the compote for 5 minutes, then add sugar to taste and boil until the dry ingredient is completely dissolved. Squeeze lemon juice into a saucepan and remove from heat. Close it with a lid and let the contents cool completely. Then place it in a cool place and leave the vitamin drink for 5-8 hours. Serve in glasses along with fruit pieces.

Warming date and ginger compote

Ingredients: – 1 liter of water; – 200 g pitted dried dates; – 3 cm of ginger root; – 5 tbsp. l. honey; – 0,5 lemon; – a pinch of cinnamon.

Peel the ginger root and cut it into small pieces. Boil water in a small saucepan and dip the prepared ingredient into it. Boil it for 20 minutes over medium heat, strain the broth through cheesecloth or a fine mesh sieve, pour it back into a saucepan and place on the stove. After boiling, throw in the dates, cook them for 10 minutes and remove with a slotted spoon.

Free half of the lemon from the zest, divide into wedges, put them in a compote with honey and cinnamon and cook the drink for another 5 minutes. Drink it with pleasure hot with a bite of dates. It is especially important to prepare such an elixir in winter, to increase immunity and prevent colds.

Rosehip compote should be infused in a dark place or dish with opaque walls and a lid, since sunlight destroys vitamin C

Wash dried fruit thoroughly. Heat the water in a saucepan or small saucepan until it boils well, then add the apples, and after 10 minutes of boiling, add the rose hips. Cook the compote for another 5 minutes, sweeten it to taste, stir well, boil and remove from the stove immediately. Soak it for about an hour, strain, mix with lemon juice and refrigerate.
