Dream worth a million: 10 most expensive beds in the world

A hot dozen of beds, the price of which is off scale, and the range of options is surprising.

We do not take into account installations invented by artists as works of art. Still, creativity has a different price and value. We have put together for you beds that you can actually buy. With a certain amount, of course. These sums are rather big – starting from 50 thousand dollars and ending with millions.

Price: $ 50 000

The cube-shaped bed was designed by Karim Rashid, one of the world’s most renowned industrial designers. Placing it in an ordinary room is problematic, but in a room on a grand scale, such a mini-bedroom will create the effect of a room in a room. You can choose the color of the upholstery to your liking. As for the “filling”, the building has built-in LED lighting, a mirror, a champagne stand and a TV. And if you want a bigger screen, you will have to change the TV … along with the bed!

Price: $ 50

The hi-tech model Starry Night Sleep Technology Bed was released by Leggett & Platt. It has built-in special sensors that are able to recognize vibrations that we perceive as rumbling snoring sounds. As soon as the sleeping person starts snoring, the bed independently changes the angle of inclination by 7 degrees. The snoring stops, and the miracle technique returns the mattress to its original position. The set of options also includes a temperature control system (from different sides the mattress can be heated in different ways) and an Internet portal with many settings.

Price: $ 60

Do you want to be in the shoes of the heroes of a space travel movie who usually sleep in super-convenient capsules? The Cosmovoide Bed was created especially for this. For six tens of thousands of dollars, you can buy an island of dreams, into which LED lighting, a telephone, and a DVD are built. Suspension springs and a special electrical relaxation system provide comfort.

Price: $ 85 000

Model name Majesty translates as greatness or majesty. And the main secret of the handmade Majesty VI-Spring bed is a mattress made of six thousand springs made using a secret technology. Superior comfort, of course. All other parts of the bed are made of expensive and exclusively natural materials, textile parts are made of cotton, silk and cashmere. As for the decor, of course, it was not done without spraying with gold and silver. By the way, a mattress using VI-Spring technology can also be bought in Russia. The minimum price for one and a half is from 1 million 300 thousand rubles. A 2 x 2 meter mattress has already cost more than three million.

The creepy-looking bed exists in a single copy.

Price: $ 177

But this is not a design move at all. The model of the bed, resembling a coffin, is designed in case of a nuclear war or some other cataclysm. And not as a hypothetical model! A bunker bed is actually offered to buy in the US for $ 177,6 thousand, and if you’re lucky, then with a 12% discount – “only” for $ 156,3 thousand. If purchased, it will be specially manufactured and delivered within the country in 10-14 weeks. However, there is no excitement or queue of those who wish. Inventor Jeff Walling came up with a multifunctional unit back in 2001 and gave it the beautiful name Quantum Sleeper – “Quantum bedroom”, but in almost 20 years a single copy was made, and that wooden one is, in fact, just a prototype of a bed that protects from everything: a hurricane, tornadoes, floods, gas or chemical attacks, robbery attacks …

What is included in the package of the “safest resting place”? Steel frame with bulletproof coating, air circulation system with biochemical filters, respiratory protection, motion, smoke and proximity sensors, emergency communication systems, external and remote control, backup batteries. As well as a mechanism for closing the shelter in an emergency, a mirrored overhead covering that provides visibility only from the inside, storage space for food supplies and a self-contained bathroom.

Price: $ 210 000

Sunset Bed is almost a work of art, a painting in a practical form. The headboard really resembles the disk of the sun at sunset: it is assembled from 78 wedges made of rare wood. The chief designer of the furniture house Parnian Furniture has been coming up with an unusual model for two years. It took another 8 months for the company’s craftsmen to make the first sample from ebony, African sapele and a special kind of maple. The basis of the structure is stainless steel, the decor details are gold. The Sunset Bed has received prestigious furniture design awards more than once, and the model is available to order. Unless, of course, you have a couple of hundred thousand dollars at your disposal.

The golden island of entertainment

Price: $ 676 000

The dimensions of the Gold Bed (literally “golden bed”) from the German company Jado Steel Style are three by three meters. But this is not what makes it one of the most expensive. Firstly, this is an example of flashy luxury: decorative inserts are made of Swarovski crystals and the most expensive gold – 24-carat (pure gold of the highest standard, without adding other metals). And second, the bed is literally crammed with all kinds of technology: a DVD player with a Bose audio system, a Blu-ray player, a Sony Playstation 3 game console, a plasma TV panel and a built-in Busch Jaeger Control panel, with which you can control all entertainment functions. There’s also internet access, and the cherry on top of this whole tech cake is a wine cooler. In short, everything for a comfortable stay. For a “modest” amount – nearly 700 thousand dollars.

Price: $ 1

The creators of the Magnetic Floating Bed managed to overcome the attraction. Thanks to a system of powerful magnets, the bed soars at a height of 40 cm from the floor, while supporting a weight of up to 900 kg. The victory over the laws of gravity was won by Danish architect Janjaap Ruijssenaars, who presented his creation at the Millionaires Fair in Kortrijk, Belgium back in 2006. Why are we still not sleeping on this extraordinary invention? It’s all about three flaws. First, the floating bed must be tied to the walls with thin cables stretched like a string. Secondly, it is not known how prolonged exposure to a magnetic field can affect the body. Finally, the third drawback is the price: you will have to pay $ 1,6 million for a flying bed. But there is also a more economical solution: you can purchase a one-fifth of the exhibition sample. Such a purchase will cost $ 153.

Price: $ 6

Baldacchino Supreme from designer Stuart Hughes, made in the style of decadence, only gold – more than a centner! 107 kg of pure precious metal with patina. The chestnut wood back is decorated with diamonds and other precious stones, the Italian silk and cotton canopy is located on an ash frame. In total, there are two copies, each of which Hebanon’s craftsmen took about 3 months to make. The first one cost $ 4, but at the auction there was a serious struggle between the buyers, so that the price jumped more than one and a half times. We suspect that just after that the second copy was made: demand, as you know, gives rise to supply.

Price: kept secret.

This unique bed can theoretically be purchased as well. If, of course, the current owner Nikas Safronov decides to sell it. The bed of the wife of King Louis XVI of France, who was executed at the end of the 17th century, stands in the bedroom of a 1000-room apartment on Bryusov Lane. The artist spent several years renovating an apartment of XNUMX square meters, and then furnished the second floor with antique furniture, turning it into a Gothic palace in the center of Moscow. The bed is part of a whole suite from the French queen’s chambers. Nikas admits that he himself never sleeps on it, so as not to disturb the spirit of the monarch. The interior item is covered with a rare bedspread and wolf skins.
