Drainage massage for children is very effective and safe. It is aimed at quickly curing a child’s cough without the use of drugs. It can be done independently even with bronchitis, but only after a doctor’s examination.

It is difficult for a child to cough up mucus, since the bronchi are still poorly developed. To improve his well-being, a drainage massage is performed.

Drainage massage for children – a pleasant treatment

Follow the recommendations:

  1. Do the massage no earlier than the 4th day of illness.
  2. Place the child on a flat surface with the head lower than the torso using a roller.
  3. Remove jewelry from your hands, cut your nails.
  4. Lubricate your hands with a special oil or cream.
  5. After the massage, dress or wrap the child and do not go outside.

Start treatments in the morning or evening before bed. After eating, 30 minutes should pass. The duration of the course is 5 days, 10 minutes each.

Features of massage for bronchitis

Drainage massage for bronchitis is prescribed by a pediatrician. It is aimed at the quick recovery of the child and the restoration of respiratory function.

Contraindications to massage for bronchitis:

  • elevated temperature;
  • the appearance of a rash;
  • underweight;

Procedure:

  1. Warm up the back of the baby with stroking until slightly reddened.
  2. Tap lightly on your back with the back of your hand.
  3. Let your baby clear his throat by applying pressure to the root of the tongue with a spoon.
  4. Rub the sides and then the breast.

After finishing the massage, wrap the baby warmly and leave to sleep. Shift from side to side every 15 minutes to keep mucus from accumulating.

How to do massage correctly

Having prepared everything you need in advance, start the massage.

Execution rules:

  1. Warm up the skin with light strokes.
  2. From the waist to the shoulders, do 20 tweaks with both hands.
  3. Step back a little to the sides and repeat the tingling.
  4. With the ribs of the palms, perform 20 beatings on each side from the waist to the shoulders.
  5. Do the same, only with clenched fists.

When the baby clears his throat, move on to a chest massage, which is performed in a clockwise circular rubbing from the center to the collarbone.

Thanks to the massage, the child’s bronchi are warmed up, the viscosity of the mucus decreases and when coughing jerks, it is quickly excreted from the body. In addition, it improves blood flow and strengthens the respiratory function.
