Doxar, or Doxazosini mesilas, is a blood pressure-lowering drug designed to dilate the vessels and thus reduce blood flow resistance in peripheral blood vessels. It is also used in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. The drug is easily absorbed from the digestive system into the bloodstream. It binds to plasma proteins in 98%. It stays in the blood for up to 22 hours.

The active ingredient is methanesulfonian doksazosyny.

Doxar – dosage

The package contains 30 tablets. 1 tablet contains 1 mg, 2 mg or 4 mg doksazosyny in the form of doxazosin mesylate. The drug is only available on prescription and refunded.

Doxar is taken by mouth at the same time each day. The tablets are taken before or after a meal with a little water. The dose and the frequency of taking the drug is determined by the doctor. Before taking the drug, the doctor must exclude that the enlargement of the prostate gland is not related to cancer.

Doxar – possible side effects

Contraindications for use are: hypersensitivity to doxazosin, quinazoline derivatives and other ingredients of the preparation. Use doksazosyny jest contraindicated in people with orthostatic and arterial hypotension, in breastfeeding women. Doxazosin should be used during pregnancy only when the potential benefit justifies the possible risk. The use of the medicinal product is not recommended Doxar in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Undesirable side effects These are: a drop in blood pressure when changing from a lying position to a standing position (rarely associated with fainting). Non-specific symptoms: headache and dizziness, balance disorders, edema, malaise, drowsiness, fatigue, fatigue, gastrointestinal disorders, dry mouth, rhinitis, tachycardia, dyspnoea, increased sweating, weight gain, very rarely incontinence urine. The drug may affect your ability to drive.

The drug should not be used in severe heart diseases and liver failure.
