Don’t Throw It Out: How to Use Egg Shells
 

It is the eggshells that most often fly into the trash can. But you don’t have to throw it away, it is not at all useless. We counted 10 ways to use it in an interesting way, and we are sure that the options for the useful use of the shell are not limited to them.

So, what can be made from eggshells:

  • Nail hardener

Brittle nails indicate a calcium deficiency. You can increase it with the help of the shell, which contains a huge amount of calcium. A third of a teaspoon of egg powder a day – and forget about the fragility and flakiness of nails.

  • Seedling container

Very soon, everyone who is involved in growing something in the garden or in the garden will think about where to get containers for seedlings. You should not spend money on new ones, it is quite possible to make suitable containers from the shell.

 

Poke a hole in the shell with an awl or a needle, pour the soil into the “pot”, plant seeds in the soil. Grow seedlings on a windowsill by placing the “pots” in an egg container. You can plant seedlings in the ground together with “pots”. And most importantly: the product is biodegradable.

  • Seasoning for coffee

To make the coffee tastier, add a pinch of eggshell powder when brewing. The taste will become brighter and richer, bitterness and acidity will go away. By the way, adding shells to a Turk will not let the fragrant drink escape.

  • Fertilizer for plants

Every year we throw away kilograms of this most valuable product, which could be an excellent fertilizer for the garden. After all, the eggshell contains 20 minerals! Grind the shell into powder (the finer the better) and fertilize the soil at the standard rate of 300 g of powder per square meter of soil.

  • Heartburn medicine

Does soda help a little for heartburn? Try an eggshell preparation. Stir 2 tsp. eggshell powder in a glass of milk and drink. The effect will not be long in coming and will be longer than after soda.

  • Dietary supplement

Calcium solution is distinguished by high alkaline properties, the healing role of which is known not only to fans of macrobiotics. How to cook? 1 tsp Pour eggshell powder with a liter of water, leave for 5 hours, drink during the day.

  • Clear broth maker

Some dishes, such as jellied ones, require a completely pure broth. How to make it amber and transparent? Peel with egg whites and shells. For 3 liters of broth – 1 protein and a shell of 2 eggs. Add chopped shells and whipped egg whites to the hot broth. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Trying not to disturb the cloudy sediment, strain the broth through cheesecloth.

  • Bleach

Only a white shell is suitable for bleaching. Grind the shell into a powder, fill it in a rag bag, tie it tightly and put it in the drum of the washing machine when washing white laundry.

  • Dish cleaner

This tool will interest those who value the environmental friendliness of cleaning products. Rub the shells into powder – and use as a cleaning agent. It wipes off just as well, and – most importantly – no chemistry!

  • Designer candles

You can make handmade candles from ordinary wax candles and eggshells. Crush the candles, remove the wick and melt the wax over the fire. After making a hole in the bottom of the shell with a needle, thread the wick. Fill the shell with wax. Ordinary sunflower oil can be used as a combustible material.
