Many of us are aware of how important the acid-base balance of the body is for health. Already at school, we were taught that dairy products, grain products, meat and sweets are acid-forming products, while fruits and vegetables – alkaline-forming products. The body needs both to stay in balance and function as it should. Unfortunately, many of us forget this!
The diet of the average Pole still leaves much to be desired. Still too much fatty meat, grain products, sweets, coffee and alcohol in our diet. As a result of eating only what we like, and not what the body needs, we quickly lead to acidification of the body. Vegetables are still only an addition to dinner, usually in the form of a minimal amount of salad or a decorative leaf of lettuce or a slice of tomato on a sandwich. And that’s definitely not enough! Too much acid-forming products, too little alkaline-forming products is a quick way to poor health.
What it usually looks like…
Such a diet contributes to the fact that over the years we feel worse and worse. The longer it lasts, the greater the damage. The following become the norm for us:
- Eternal lack of sleep,
- Tiredness,
- broke energy,
- cellulite,
- Overweight,
- irritability,
- Dark circles under the eyes,
- Arthralgia,
- Frequent infections
- Decreased mental clarity, problems with concentration.
So ask yourself: do your muscles, spine, bones hurt? Are you low on energy? Do you often get flu and colds? Do you have osteoporosis? Do you suffer from gallbladder problems? Is your hair falling out, losing its shine? The skin looks bad, there are pimples, redness? Do you gain weight easily, find it hard to lose weight? Do you have mood swings?
If you answered yes to some of the above questions, consider whether you have an acidified body.
How to check?
In order to avoid this state of affairs, you need to be more and more careful with what you eat and reach for healthy food as you get older. Over time, other “acidifiers” appear, i.e. lack of exercise, stress and lack of sleep. Our well-being is then not a matter of age – it is the acidification of the body that causes these ailments.
The simplest method of testing the acidity of urine is to conduct a test using litmus paper. It will change color to match the pH of your urine. The measurement should be carried out immediately after waking up, you should not drink anything before it. The test strip is placed in the mid-stream of the urine, or the urine is first collected in a sterile container and then the strip is placed in it. Do not hold the part of the paper that shows the result in your fingers (your skin has an acidic reaction), after measuring, immediately compare it with the scale.
