Don’t do this: 23 real photos of bathrooms with terrible renovations

If you are just thinking about updating the interior in this part of the apartment, first take a look at our selection of not very successful ideas.

What comes to mind when you say “bathroom renovation?” Probably a bathtub, tiles, a mirror. But many see this room very differently. For example, you can put a statue there. Or put the bath on a pedestal. And it’s a sacred thing to pile the toilet bowl on a dais to make a real throne!

Recently, soft bathrooms have become a real trend. Apparently, people do not have enough comfort, warmth, peace, so they try to make the world around them as pliable and fluffy as possible. But to tighten both the floor and the walls in the wettest room in the house with carpet is probably still too much. After all, the slightest flaw in the ventilation – and imagine what the smell will be there!

Tile deserves special attention. You can create any, absolutely any drawing. The assortment of tiles in stores allows you to even lay out the Taj Mahal in miniature on the walls of the bathroom. But pink mirror madness? Or a combination of black and white tiles and scarlet edging? Not for the faint of heart. After all, an unprepared person in such an entourage can get seasick.

Some designers have gone even further. The world now stands for openness, privacy – a concept that goes deeper and deeper into the past. We strive to show our life to those around us, many celebrities even flaunt what it used to be hidden in a decent society. Apparently, such considerations were guided when planning this apartment. There is no other way to explain why the toilet is located directly opposite the front door, symbolically separated by a glass partition.

And there are simply inexplicable decisions. For example, the drain hole in the shower room, which is located above the floor level. Apparently, the water should jump there. Or the gravity in this separate shower room was canceled.

Bath screens are such a space for imagination! However, there are such non-trivial solutions that you are amazed. For example, use blinds instead of curtains. Comfortable? For sure. Only a little dark.

And we have collected a few more examples of a completely hellish bathroom design – the one that is designed to relax and undead. Scroll through the photo gallery and be inspired!
