The organization Doctors Without Borders announced via Twitter about the suspension of activities in the field of care for patients with HIV or tuberculosis in Ukraine. However, he declares readiness to help in the field of emergency medicine, and will also provide humanitarian aid.

The international NGO Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières, MSF) has published a series of Tweets in which it explains the importance of access to healthcare during the invasion of Ukraine.

Doctors Without Borders: a painful decision
“We are deeply concerned about the consequences of the conflict for Ukrainians and the community” — with these words begins a series of posts by Doctors Without Borders on the situation in Ukraine.
“We had to make a painful decision to stop our activities, which included caring for HIV patients in Severodonetsk, tuberculosis care in Zhytomyr and improving access to healthcare in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine, where we provide much-needed care to the conflict-affected community” — informs the organization and ensures that its representatives have done everything to ensure continuity of care for patients.

The organization adds that it has contacted hospitals in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions for training in emergency medicine. At the same time, it emphasizes that if hostilities continue, it will be crucial to ensure people’s access to healthcare.
Doctors Without Borders are also ready to provide humanitarian aid. “We intend to send teams to neighboring countries to be ready to respond in Ukraine or provide humanitarian medical assistance to refugees seeking asylum abroad.”
