During the 27-hour operation, he only had four 15-minute breaks. The view of a happy family, however, rewarded him with all the trouble associated with the procedure.

The British surgeon emphasized that thanks to teamwork and knowledge sharing, we have a chance to provide a better life for more people. Mufarreja added that the boys spent 2,5 years in the hospital where they were operated on and became part of the community there.
The separation of Bernardo and Arthur was one of the most complicated operations of its kind in history. The boys are the oldest Siamese twins linked by brains that have been separated. The Brazilians will now go through the six months rehabilitations.
