Doctors sent a woman home with contractions – she gave birth right at the entrance

Neighbors and husband took part in childbirth. The only thing left for the ambulance is to take the young mother and child to the hospital.

In Russia, until recently, it was customary to hospitalize pregnant women in advance. The gynecologist calculated the preliminary date of birth, often mistaken for a couple of weeks in the direction of increasing the term, and issued a prescription when to go to the hospital. More recently, the situation has changed: now expectant mothers are advised to go to the hospital when regular contractions begin.

In the West, however, this practice has been adopted for a long time. No one will allow you to take extra time in the hospital bed, and it is expensive. Therefore, there are much more often cases when a woman gives birth in a car on the way to the hospital – they simply do not have time to get there on time. But for 34-year-old Anne-Marie, the situation was even stranger. Her contractions began at night, became quite painful, and the interval between them was only seven minutes. In the morning, Anne-Marie’s mother took her daughter to the hospital, and everything did not go according to plan.

The contractions suddenly became irregular and weakened. The woman spent four and a half hours in the department, after which she was kicked out the door – advised to take a bath, stay with her husband, drink tea in order to try to get things off the ground. There was nothing to be done, Anne-Marie returned home. As soon as she went into the hallway and closed the door behind her, the woman’s stomach cramped: the contractions returned with a vengeance. The waters left, and Anne-Marie realized that the baby would be born any minute. She already had experience – two years ago she gave birth to her first child. These sensations, when the baby is already asking for the light, cannot be confused with anything.

“I called the hospital, they told me to come back urgently. I asked my husband to call an ambulance. But he decided that it was unnecessary, because we live next to the hospital, so he himself will take me. I insisted, he refused, and I could barely walk to the car. And I didn’t have time: at the entrance I realized that I was giving birth. I fell to the ground in pain, I could not take another step, ”Anne-Marie told The Sun.

The woman’s screams echoed throughout the block. Neighbors poured out to help: 66-year-old Jane arrived in time, while Adam, the husband of the woman in labor, called the ambulance, 51-year-old Melinda ran up after him with an armful of towels.

“We put towels under Anne-Marie to keep her warm. And they tried to calm her down while waiting for the ambulance, ”says Melinda.

Meanwhile, the emergency staff were giving instructions to Adam over the phone. He hoped to the last that he would not have to take delivery himself. When the operator asked if the baby’s head had appeared, the man answered a firm “no”, but then he still looked under his wife’s skirt and shouted: “Oh my God, yes!” A couple of minutes later, Adam was already holding his son – the boy was named Jack. Soon an ambulance arrived and took Anne-Marie and Jack to the hospital. The support group now only had to wait for both of them to be discharged back home.

Mom and son returned from the hospital just a couple of days later – Jack was born an absolutely healthy strong guy, weighed almost 3,5 kg.

“It’s a miracle that everything worked out without the slightest difficulty,” say the parents. After all, pregnancy was not easy for them. Anne-Marie gave birth to her first child, having managed to conceive after four unsuccessful rounds of IVF and a miscarriage. The second boy was also conceived with the help of assistive technology. The couple spent a total of more than 2 million rubles on artificial insemination.

“It was very difficult, but I am so happy that we had the strength to go through all the difficulties. You should never lose hope, ”adds Anne-Marie.
