British medical professionals claim that art therapy and other forms of art can save patients from various diseases, including mental disorders.
A large-scale social experiment was conducted, in which more than 1300 Britons of different ages took part. The study was carried out by scientists from the University of Gloucestershire.
Recently, doctors often resort to non-medical solutions in the process of treating a patient. Doctors are increasingly recognizing that what most people need is not pills, but something else. At the end of traditional treatment, patients usually return to their doctor. Coping with the problem, as it turns out, is possible with the help of creative groups in which people gather according to their interests and work on something. Patients choose classes on their own, but scientists pay special attention to art therapy.
The participants in this social experiment were divided into small teams of 10 people. Each group constantly met and painted pictures with the help of artists. In some cases, a person was provided with a separate room. After a few days, their psychological barrier disappeared, and some participants began to communicate with each other. After some time, patients began to feel better. People left anxiety, fear of loneliness and depressive disorder. Everyone became more confident. Middle-aged patients showed a desire to change their life situation, and the elderly said that they feel a surge of strength and health.
Scientists claim that art therapy is an important and necessary direction in psychotherapy, which allows you to engage in high-quality psychological correction of a person’s condition. Most doctors are sure that such unusual, but effective methods can save more than one human life.
