Beer “Doctor Diesel” is called youth – because of the special popularity among those Russians who are not yet thirty. The design of the glass bottle with “pimples” is concise, the shape is ergonomic – the bottle fits comfortably in the hand due to the narrowing in the middle and does not slip even when cooled to “perspiration”.
Historical reference. The brand was created by the Russian company Ivan Taranov Breweries in 1998 and bought out in 2005 by the Dutch holding Heineken. In 2007, the brand was rebranded: the new owners changed the design and the name began to be written only in Latin letters. The increase in sales in 2008 by almost 20 times compared to 2006 is attributed by specialists to an effective marketing strategy.
The Heineken International Brewing Corporation began as a small brewery in Amsterdam built in 1873 by Gerard Heineken. Fascinated by the new business, the young man hired two assistants and began to improve the traditional recipe, and after 2 years he presented his first drink – unusually light in comparison with those that were still brewed in Holland. Heineken’s name very soon became famous – it was written on every bottle. 140 years have passed, the company already consists of 115 breweries in 65 countries of the world, but the name on the bottle remains unchanged, and the family business.
Production features
The owners consider natural ingredients and unique A-Yeast yeast, which form the rich taste of beer and light fruity notes in the aroma, to be the basis for the success of their business.
Beer fermentation at Heineken breweries takes place in horizontal tanks rather than the standard vertical ones, creating ideal conditions for yeast growth.
To achieve a pleasant golden yellow color, the beer is brewed for 28 days, which is longer than the average brewing time for drinks at other breweries.
Every day, 25 million Heineken glasses are served in 192 countries around the world – such statistics are indicated on the company’s website. And they clarify: “We always remember that quality is measured not by the number of breweries and not by production volumes, but by the purity of beer.”
Heineken is a sponsor of the UEFA Champions League and one of the brand’s new slogans, “Enjoy Heineken responsibly”, was written on the edge around the playing field during recent games.
Types of beer “Doctor Diesel”
Doctor Diesel (4,5%). Golden yellow filtered lager with malt and corn aromas. Rich taste with hints of malt and bread toasts. Dry hop aftertaste. Serve chilled to +5-8 °C. It is combined with mussels, shrimps, dried meat.
Doctor Diesel Red Mix (4,5%). A pomegranate-red drink with the aroma of malt and freshly squeezed pomegranate juice. The taste is sweetish with tones of pomegranate. Dry aftertaste with hints of hops. Serve chilled to +4-7 °C. Recommended as an aperitif, without appetizers, or as an accompaniment to light vegetable dishes.
Doctor Diesel Sexy Lime (4%). Light golden yellow beer with lime and malt aromas. Pleasant sweet taste with lime tones. Dry aftertaste without bitterness characteristic of beer. Serve chilled to +4-7 °C as an aperitif.
