Dobenox Forte is a drug indicated for use in the case of chronic venous insufficiency of the lower extremities, such as pain and night cramps in the legs, a feeling of heaviness in the legs, edema. Read how to dose Dobenox Forte, its composition and contraindications.
Dobenox Forte – composition and mechanism of action
The active substance in Dobenox Forte is calcium dobesylate. The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, potato starch, lactose monohydrate, talc, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica, titanium dioxide, talc, maltodexin and medium-chain triglycerides. Calcium dobesylate has a protective effect on blood vessels: reduces their permeability, improves peripheral circulation and reduces the excessive viscosity of blood and plasma, thus preventing the formation of stagnation and clots in the veins.
Calcium dobesylate monohydrate improves venous circulation and protects blood vessels. It reduces the permeability and increases the elasticity of the capillaries. It reduces platelet aggregation and blood plasma viscosity by lowering the concentration of fibrinogen and alpha1 and alpha2 globulins in the plasma, thus improving tissue flow, which prevents the formation of stagnation and blood clots in the veins.
It has an antagonistic effect against autacoids and neurohormones (histamine, bradykinin). It improves the plasticity of erythrocytes and inhibits their tendency to stick together. It increases the drainage of lymphatic vessels, while reducing their fragility and permeability. The consequence of these effects is a reduction in seepage of fluid from the blood into the tissues and a reduction in edema.
