Recently, we see hemp oil more and more often on store shelves, which can be used as an addition to dishes or a dietary supplement. Are you sure it is safe for us? Will its consumption have any health benefits, or is hemp oil dangerous and addictive? I hope that my text will dispel all your doubts today.
Is every calorie the same?
Coconut oil for palm oil in Oshee bars – is it a good change?
Hemp oil and marijuana
First of all, I want to clarify one thing at the beginning: the raw material for the production of hemp oil is hemp. This species is obviously related to some extent to the Indian marijuana strain, but is not narcotic. The substance responsible for the effect desired by the creators of illegal drugs is THC, a compound that is practically absent in hemp. In addition, it is illegal in Poland, so it will not appear on store shelves, and then in our shopping cart.
Why do we need hemp oil?
We have already learned that hemp oil poses no threat to us. However, will taking it have any positive health effects for us and is it worth including it in your kitchen? Both these questions can be answered YES.
Hemp oil is, of course, one of the vegetable oils. As it is commonly known, they are healthier than animal ones and due to many different properties it is worth including them in your menu. It is no different with our today’s hero. Hemp oil contains a large amount of omega-3 fatty acids in a great proportion to omega-6 fatty acids.
As a reminder – these fatty acids are essential for the proper functioning of all organs in the human body. First of all, they support the work of the cardiovascular system, and in addition, omega-3 acids have a positive effect on the reactions of our immune system and have anti-inflammatory properties and have a positive effect, among others. on smooth muscle cells, liver and heart.
The described oil also contains monounsaturated fatty acids, which include lower cholesterol in the blood.
Other ingredients that we care about and that we can find in this product are, for example, vitamins A, E and K and those from group B, as well as minerals in the form of calcium, magnesium and zinc.
Not only people who want to improve the health of their body will become fans of hemp oil in a short time. Also, those who care about the good condition of their skin will surely find something for themselves in this product. Hemp oil can, among others, reduce the feeling of dryness and itching of the skin.
What is it all about?
As you can see, hemp oil will have the most positive effect on our health. Okay, but how to use it in the kitchen? I’m in a hurry to answer. Including you can successfully use it as:
• Part of a salad dressing and any other dips, e.g. served with raw vegetables,
• An addition to sandwiches,
• The soup enrichment ingredient (then it should be added cold, already on the plate),
• The element of smoothies, cocktails, or sheikhs.
When using hemp oil in the kitchen, it should be noted that it is not recommended to use it in the very process of cooking, frying or baking. It should not be brought to a very high temperature – then it loses its beneficial properties. However, it can be added to slightly warmed dishes, such as the aforementioned soups.
So what does the Dietitian advise?
Let us return for a moment to the beginning of the text. There, I tried to allay my concerns about the safety of hemp oil. However, it seems to me that with a grain of salt you can say that this product is addictive after all
