Not only GIS responded by creating its advertising spots against legal highs, but also ordinary people, including students. Unfortunately, legal highs are very easily available means that are not banned by the state. They are not on the list of controlled substances.

How do boosters work?

Their action is similar to psychoactive substances, but they are not on the list of substances prohibited by the Act on counteracting drug addiction. Consumption of various types of legal highs is to evoke the same sensations as the consumption of cocaine, amphetamines or other various types of drugs. Boosters are also produced in various types, which are supposed to affect the human body and nervous system in different ways.

The danger of boosters

The chemical composition of these substances is selected in such a way that they are not legally considered drugs, although their use gives the same effect as drug use. At least twelve thousand different narcotic substances are distinguished in chemistry. It is therefore easy to imagine the freedom of their use without breaking the applicable law. Manufacturers of legal highs do not provide their full chemical composition, which is why their consumption can be so dangerous to health. Boosters can also affect the heart and circulatory system, causing, for example, dangerous heart palpitations. 

Recent analyzes show that their “dealers” are responsible for the recent poisoning with legal highs. Barbecue firelighters were added to the funds, which has already resulted in the death of one person.

Effect of boosters

They contain, for example, hallucinogenic compounds that cause hallucinations, delusions and hallucinations. Available boosters in pills cause insomnia, subjectively add “strength” and “vitality”, because the person taking them believes that he has more energy to act and feels less sleepy. Boosters also affect the perception of emotions, depression can mix with euphoria, which results in very dangerous psychotic states and states similar to bipolar depression.

Boosters may also contain dangerous and poisonous alkaloids, identical to those found in poisonous toadstools. In case of poisoning, it is best to induce vomiting, drink a lot of water, show the afterburner package to the doctor.
