Do you have to practice with equipment?

Having training equipment significantly influences the attractiveness and diversity of the training sessions. It is very important, because in order for the training process to bring the desired results, it is extremely important to use a variety of training stimuli. One should not forget about the mental aspects of performing uniform exercises – weariness and the so-called training boredom. They contribute to the abandonment and cessation of systematic training.

When is it necessary to exercise with the equipment?

It is also worth remembering that in some cases the use of various types of training equipment, for example dumbbells, allows you to stimulate body parts that would not be possible to engage in exercises that use the load on your own body. This may be the case, inter alia, in the case of obese and overweight people, as well as in a situation where a given muscle group has been significantly weakened, for example due to an injury and the associated prolonged immobilization.

Is it worth using dumbbells?

Dumbbells are the basic and most universal training equipment. With their use, you can stimulate virtually all parts of the body, from the arms to the legs and buttocks. Moreover, they are very compact and therefore take up little space. Dumbells with variable loads are even more versatile. It is a type of dumbbell that allows you to change their weight, and therefore the load with which the exercises using them will be performed. The purchase of dumbbells with variable load or dumbbells is not a very large expense. However, if you do not have such a possibility, you can create them yourself.

How to make dumbbells at home?

For this purpose, you can use mineral water bottles. You can fill them with water, and if that’s not enough, then sand or stones. When creating such alternative dumbbells, make sure the bottle is completely full. Otherwise, the ‘load’ will move during the exercise, which may increase the instability of the homemade dumbbells, and thus make it difficult to carry out the exercise – instead of the movements performed, the practitioner will focus on holding the bottle or bottles. For exercises that use two dumbbells, it is very important that they both weigh the same. Particular attention should be paid to this, especially if the bottles are not filled with water. The advantage of such home training equipment is that you can create a set of self-made dumbbells with different loads by using bottles of different capacity. Thanks to this, it will be possible to stimulate different parts of the body with an appropriately selected load.

What instead of a barbell at home?

Dumbbells are not the only training equipment that can be replaced with items found in almost every household. A substitute for a straight bench can be two joined poufs or stools, a sled, and a garden bench. In turn, a straight bar can be made with a heavier stick than a brush or a straight branch. The only limitation in creating training equipment yourself is your imagination. However, it should be remembered that any home-made training device must, above all, be safe – using it may not be associated with a threat to health or life.
