Couperose skin is characterized by hypersensitivity to the use of inappropriate cosmetics, tobacco smoke or changeable weather. It emphasizes all imperfections that have taken the form of “spider veins” and redness, for which dilated blood vessels are responsible.

Telangiectasia is defined as places with the greatest dilatation of blood vessels, which primarily include the cheeks, chin and around the nostrils. It happens that blood vessels are so fragile that they break easily, which means that visually unfavorable changes can cover the entire face area.

Care for couperose skin

People with couperose skin should be patient, but it is worth remembering that careful care will result in a well-groomed complexion. So how to care for this type of skin?

  • First of all, let’s refrain from lounging in the sun or visiting the solarium, because the high temperature will unfortunately cause dilated blood vessels.
  • The guiding principle regarding the care of couperose skin is related to the reasonable selection of cosmetics. In no case should we risk causing irritation, e.g. through preparations whose composition is based on zinc or alcohol.
  • It would be good if the cosmetic was enriched with vitamins C and K and mountain arnica or chestnut extracts.
  • It is recommended that the diet of people with couperose skin be rich in fruits (except citrus fruits), vegetables (except peppers). Holders of this type of skin should beware of products with a spicy taste.
  • Supplementation is recommended to strengthen blood vessels, which will prevent excessive amounts of spider veins.
  • We must take into account that the imperfections resulting from capillary skin will be more pronounced during pregnancy, as well as when we experience stressful situations or certain diseases.
  • A remedy for these circumstances may be a reasonable make-up, which should start with applying a base to the face – a cream dedicated to couperose skin. Red marks will be eliminated by a green concealer. Only then can we apply foundation, of which it is better to avoid cosmetics enriched with pink pigment, as it will even more emphasize skin imperfections, and thus – we will achieve the opposite effect to the intended one.

Why is care so important?

You should take care of your couperose skin. Changes occurring on the surface are red, those located deeper blue or bluish. The capillaries are capable of causing trouble for both oily and dry skin owners. On the side of the causes are primarily temperature changes, allergies, strong emotions, hypertension, medications, diseases of the digestive system or skin. Capillary skin occurs in 10 percent of the population, also in men. Although the erythema disappears from the face in a relatively short time, there is a risk that it will become permanent over time. Besides, improper care can cause rosacea.
