Do you need an Oasis gas column repair? German-made equipment is distinguished by high-quality assembly, but is not without breakdowns. If your gas heater does not work, flows or goes out, read our article. The main causes of the malfunction, their elimination

The cause of the breakdown can be external and internal factors:
- Incorrect installation and connection.
- Incorrect operation.
- Blockages in the chimney and ventilation.
- Problems with internal components: scale, corrosion.

Column does not light up
There can be many reasons, we will help you figure it out. The main thing is to correctly determine the location of the breakdown.
If the device does not ignite at all, no spark is produced, then:
- Batteries are dead. Devices with automatic ignition are battery operated. For replacement, take high-quality elements with a good charge. If you find a leak at their installation site, clean all contacts and install new batteries.
- Traction problems. For normal operation of the equipment, the presence of draft in the chimney is necessary. If not, inspect the ventilation hole for blockage. It could be a foreign object, soot, or debris from the street. Clean the hole if possible. Make sure that the chimney outlet is not blocked from the outside.
How do you know if there is traction? Light the spica, bring it to the viewing window of the column. The flame is deflected – there is thrust, it burns evenly – no. You can also lean a sheet of paper against the ventilation. If there is traction, the sheet will press against the output, otherwise it will fall.
- The water pressure regulator is set to the minimum mark. A small pressure is created in the system to actuate the membrane and open the gas valve. Set the regulator to the maximum value.
- Low line pressure. Is there a trickle when you turn on the faucet? Contact the water utility and wait for the supply to be restored. If this happens frequently, it is recommended to install a circulation pump.
- The strainer is clogged. The part is located at the entrance to the water unit, retains small debris that comes with the water flow. It is necessary to disassemble the assembly, rinse the filter under running water.
- stretched membrane. The element is used to start the gas valve. With pressure in the line, the diaphragm stretches, pushes the stem and opens the valve. Over time, it wears out, so it needs a replacement. You can read about it here: “Water node of the gas column.
- microswitch failure. It cannot be repaired, so it needs to be replaced.
- Wiring problems. Remove the cover, inspect all the wires leading to the control unit. If the insulation is broken, replace the cable.
- Solenoid valve failure in the gas station. It is necessary to inspect, check and install a new part.
Column flowed
A leak is a serious malfunction, but you can deal with it yourself.
Seal leaking through stem. To verify this, remove the cover and check where the water is flowing from.
How to do your own repairs:
- Remove the adjustment knobs by pulling them towards you.
- Unscrew the four screws securing the casing.
- Disconnect display wiring.
- Remove the batteries from the block and dismantle it by unscrewing the bolt from below.
- Disconnect water hoses.
- Unscrew the water valve bolts, remove it.
- You have reached the stuffing box and its stem. When dismantling the old stem, the gasket may remain inside – this is not a problem. Simply remove the gasket from the new part and install.
- The assembly is carried out upside-down.

The easiest way to fix a leak is if a hole has formed on the outside of the tube. Then you can use cold welding. Internal corrosion requires the use of a soldering iron or a torch with a temperature of 170 degrees. As a flux, rosin or an aspirin tablet is suitable.
Before starting work, prepare the radiator:
- Drain water from pipes.
- Dry it.
- Clean the soldering area with fine sandpaper.
- Wipe with degreaser.
You can start repairing. In order for the fistula to no longer appear, the thickness of the solder should be 2-3 mm. Examine the knot for green spots – these are future fistulas. It’s best to take care of them right away.
Clogged heat exchanger
How to understand that the radiator is clogged:
- Prolonged heating of water.
- The flow is not hot, but warm.
- Pieces of scale come out with the water.
These are indirect signs, so it is better to inspect the device. Scale on the plates of the heat exchanger and the coil appears from poor-quality water and high heating temperatures. It is recommended to set 55°C and do not mix the streams on the mixer.
There are two ways to get rid of blockage.
- Without removing the assembly from the column. You will need a special pump with tubes. A reagent is poured into it, which can be bought at a store or made on the basis of hydrochloric acid. Connect the hoses to the coil and start pumping until all the scale is out of the holes.
- With dismantling. This is a more budget option. A deep container is filled with water, a heat exchanger is lowered into it. A solution of citric acid (150 g / 750 ml) is poured into the coil through a watering can. The container is placed on the stove and boiled for 15 minutes. Then the radiator is washed under running water, dried and installed in place.
Smell of gas when turned on
This is a serious and dangerous problem. Shut off the gas supply immediately! Contact the gas service.
