Methods for applying decorative plaster

Plastering allows you to create an individual style in the room, while you can use various technologies. Regardless of the method of applying the finishing material, you need to prepare the surface. For plaster, except for Venetian, it is not required to perfectly align the walls. But in any case, you need to remove the old finishing material, close up the cracks, then prime the wall.

You will need the following tools: a regular and curly roller, spatulas of various sizes, brushes, shovels, a steel float and a half-float.

Consider some of the techniques for creating curly trim:

  1. Waviness. The surface is rubbed, and small notches are made immediately. The solution is applied in layers on a wetted surface using a spatula. The stripes can go in different directions, straight or in zigzags.
  2. Boulders. The applied solution of good plasticity is leveled with a scraper, and the surface is butted with a brush with great rigidity. It is better to hold the brush at a right angle.
  3. Hatching. The wet solution is brushed with a metal-toothed brush. Movements can be carried out in different directions.
  4. Bark beetle. The textured pattern is formed using a plastic trowel. Movements can be guided in a circle, horizontally and vertically.

The roller is applied on a flat, clean surface. The solution is spread evenly with smooth sliding strokes.

Self-application of decorative plaster allows you to create your own unique style in the room. One has only to connect imagination and artistic potential.
