They also include various greenhouse or greenhouse structures, which are used to grow seedlings on windowsills. They are also called small structures that are fashionable to make with your own hands from improvised materials: they are usually installed in small areas, since they are not at all bulky.
There are several varieties of mini greenhouses that are very common. For example, a wigwam is a type of greenhouse that looks like this Indian house. It, as a rule, is made by hand from pieces of polyethylene and any kind of support.
Another type of greenhouse is a balcony rack. By installing such a structure on your balcony, you will ensure the possibility of growing greenery all year round. Such a rack is usually made with several shelves, on which pallets with earth are then fixed. And from all sides the structure is covered with glass walls. But do not forget about ventilation, otherwise the plants will die without air. And in general, if you want this balcony rack to serve you for a long time, you should install it with your own hands very firmly and reliably.
The third most popular view was a mini-greenhouse on the windowsill. The simplest designs consist only of a large plastic bottle that is placed on top of the plant. In it, several holes are first made with their own hands. It is possible, of course, to make a more complex model from oval arcs on top covered with polyethylene sheets.

How to make from improvised materials
In theory and practice, a lot of materials are used to make a greenhouse with your own hands. It can be made from old unnecessary, but whole windows, from long branches, from glass fittings, from pipes, from mesh, from rubber hose, from plastic bottles, from logs, from bags. A separate species is a greenhouse, which is installed at a shallow depth in the ground: it is called underground. Below will be described an example of the process of installing a greenhouse from one of the above materials.
Window frame greenhouse
This option for building a greenhouse is quite cheap and not expensive. Especially if you have recently replaced old windows in your house or apartment with new ones, you should not throw them away. Also, for such purposes, you can ask someone you know, or look for the right material at construction sites.
Such a building has its own installation features. First of all, you need to make the foundation solid and strong. Still, the work will concern glass, and it weighs a lot. As a foundation, you can use a thick wooden beam, concrete pillars of any thickness or a strip foundation. Old windows should also be prepared before installation work: you need to remove paint residues, dismantle all fittings and coat the frame with an antiseptic so that insects do not start in it. In general, it is advised to remove the glass from the frames when the installation process is in progress – this way you will avoid the risk of broken glass.
Before you start installing glass, you need to build a frame with your own hands. It is already possible to mount frames there, and then insert glass into them. Those windows that will not be used as ventilation, as a rule, are sealed with construction tape.
A board of the desired size and a minimum thickness of five millimeters and a construction beam can act as a frame. After you find all the necessary materials, you need to nail the board so that they converge with the window frames. The gaps between them, as a rule, are glued with adhesive tape. After the walls, it is necessary to install a roof, which is made from ordinary film. This is all because otherwise, the soil in the greenhouse will overheat.

Before installing a greenhouse, it is important to understand one fact: to create a large full-fledged greenhouse, you need to invest a lot of money and efforts of a summer resident. Decide for what purposes you will need a greenhouse. After all, you can make a mini-greenhouse with improvised means with your own hands. This design is not inferior to the big one, and with its help you will also get a generous and early harvest of vegetables and herbs.
Mini-greenhouses have many advantages. Among them, one can recall excellent protection and mobility, because it can be placed anywhere on the site and safely moved.
The process of creating a mini-greenhouse
A small plot of land is cleared of weeds before installing such a structure as a greenhouse from improvised materials, which you can do with your own hands. You also need to level the ground and lay a strong film.
A huge plus is that expensive building materials will not be needed to create a greenhouse with your own hands: you only need a couple of boards, screws or nails for fixing. From these materials it is necessary to make a frame about sixty centimeters high. At the bottom of our box it is worth pouring gravel about two centimeters high. It will be followed by a layer of fertilized soil up to fifty centimeters high.
Then, several pegs must be attached to the finished box at the points of attachment of the arcs. Arcs are usually made from plumbing plastic pipes. But it is important to first bend and connect with pegs. Another nuance is that the distance between these arcs must be made no more than thirty-five to forty centimeters. Otherwise, there will be a risk that the film will simply sag. Next, we install a transverse arc along the entire length of the structure and fix it with wire with all other side arcs.
There are several options from which you can make arcs. The other most popular is the old watering hose. If you have a hose on the farm that has torn in some places, you can not rush to throw it away. It needs to be cut into pieces. It is recommended to fix it with willow twigs, as they have good flexibility. The hose is also fixed with pegs driven into the ground.
Thus, you can place several small and compact do-it-yourself greenhouses on your site. You can vary the height depending on what you need for certain plants. For example, tomatoes, cabbage, peppers do not grow very tall, which cannot be said about cucumbers.
Commissioning
You need to put into operation a small greenhouse made by yourself in the spring, when the season for sowing seeds and seedlings comes. In such a greenhouse there will be almost no weeds. And the plants will be in comfort and warmth until the arrival of the long-awaited summer. Then the film can be removed to provide them with access to fresh air and sunlight.
