After purchasing and delivering the equipment to your home, it remains to install it. Do you want to entrust the master to connect the washing machine to the water supply? We will tell you how to do it yourself and not spend extra money on a specialist. It’s easy if you act consistently and carefully. What is needed for this, read below.
Correct installation of the SMA
If you already had a washing machine and decided to upgrade the equipment, it is easier to install it in the old place. Otherwise, you need to proceed from the amount of free space where you can place the washer.
Most often installed in the bathroom. Even if it is small, today they produce CMA models that can be placed under the sink. The floor in the bathroom is even and stable, often tiled, so there will be no problems with subsidence. Proximity to communications also matters.
Vertical models that are placed on the wall are gaining popularity.
In the kitchen, installation is performed if the machine does not fit in the bathroom. It can be built into the kitchen set next to the sink. It is worth taking care of strengthening the floor: the equipment should be located on a flat and solid surface.
The hallway is an extreme option if there is no space at all. We’ll have to work, laying communications in the room.
Preparing the washing machine
As soon as the equipment is brought into the apartment, unpack it and check for any damage. Be sure to remove the shipping bolts that are on the back of the machine. During transport, they keep the drum and other parts of the machine in a stable position, thus avoiding damage.
The hoses and power cord are attached to the housing with plastic clips. Remove them, and also remove the bars between the body and the tank.
Do not discard fasteners. They will come in handy when transporting or contacting a service center.
How to connect the washer yourself
There can be several connection methods, a lot depends on the type of pipes and the installation distance. Regardless of the brand of the washing machine – “Indesit”, “Ardo”, “Kandy”, “Ariston” – the connection is carried out in the same way and is described in the instructions. Here is the general scheme:

To metal pipe
To make a hole in the pipe, you will need to install a compression sleeve. The part consists of two parts, which are fastened with bolts. The sealing gum that comes with the kit seals the connection with high quality.
This type of connection allows you not to build up hoses to connect to the mixer. The remote location of the water supply affects the pump, which works with a vengeance.
- Choose the flattest section of the pipe so that the coupling fits snugly.
- Use sandpaper or other suitable tool to clean the pipe from rust, paint.
- Install the gasket on the pipe as shown in the picture. On both sides, put the parts of the coupling and fasten them with bolts. It is better to twist them crosswise to avoid distortion.
If you notice that the hole is uneven and the gasket is misaligned, adjust the bolts.
Now you need to make a hole in the pipe. Before starting work, be sure to turn off the water. Additionally, you can substitute a container – in case the remaining water flows.
- Install the guide bush in the hole in the coupling, with the cap facing in.
- Take a drill with a drill with a diameter of six to seven millimeters.
- Make a hole and slightly unscrew the shut-off valve. Let the water wash away the remaining chips.
- It remains to connect the hose to the outlet, and the work is over.
To metal-plastic pipe
If you want to connect the Bosch, Atlant, Ardo or Kandy washing machine to a metal-plastic pipe, you will need to install a tee. Prepare the calibrator and wrench.
- Select a suitable pipe section.
- Cut off a piece so that you can put a tee.
- Put nuts on both ends and spread the pipe with a calibrator just enough to insert the tee fittings.
- Then fasten the nuts.
You can directly connect the inlet hose to the outlet of the tee, but experts recommend installing an additional ball or angle valve to shut off the water.
Through mixer
If the new washer is installed near the sink, then there is no point in crashing into the pipe. You can connect to the mixer. To do this, you need an open-end wrench, a fum tape, a tee crane.
- Disconnect the mixer hose from the pipe outlet.
- Wrap the fum tape on the thread, then install the tee tap. Additionally, you can put a cleaning filter that will trap debris and soften the water.
- Connect the mixer to one outlet of the tee, and the washing machine inlet hose to the other.
As you can see, any Bosch, LG, Ariston, Samsung washing machine can be connected by hand. Choose the method that is convenient for you and act.
