Lin rarely bites on the bait, as it is a shy and cautious fish. He carefully meets the food that comes across his way, and even more so the food that suddenly appears in the pond.
When going fishing for tench, you need to pay special attention to feed mixture preparationknowing what this fish eats.
Ready mixes or homemade mixes
In stores, you can buy ready-made bait mixtures for tench, but many of them do not quite meet the requirements that this fish makes.
Tench can be alarmed by some of the ingredients that make up the bait, as well as color, or very often experiment, choosing each time certain components of the bait mixture.
In the spring, there are moments when it only pecks and without any bait, moreover, very actively.
Very often, anglers include their ingredients depending on the local characteristics of the reservoir. The composition may include both animal and vegetable components, in combination with a natural flavor. The finished bait should be fresh and consist only of fresh ingredients, without the presence of a smell of mold or rot.
The composition of the bait
Bait for tench can be very simple: both crushed rye crackers and coastal land, in a ratio of 1: 4, will work no worse than expensive ready-made bait purchased in a store. It is desirable to include elements of bait and bait in the mixture, for example, worm, bloodworm, maggot, as well as peas, pearl barley, corn, etc.
The main components of bait for tench can be:
- steamed peas;
- boiled potatoes;
- millet porridge;
- fried hercules;
- sunflower cake.
Sometimes, the tench does not mind trying unusual ingredients, such as cottage cheese washed in water and shaded with some kind of dye or peat.
Ordinary white bread can be a good element of bait. It is dipped into water (without a crust), after which it is squeezed and mixed with clay or earth.
Do-it-yourself line bait preparation
Self-preparation of bait is not as laborious as it seems, you just need to stock up on all the ingredients and set aside a little time. There are several recipes that deserve attention.
Recipe No.1
- 1 part bran
- 1 part boiled millet
- 0,5 parts chopped worms
It has proven itself well on reservoirs with a sandy bottom.
Recipe No.2
- steamed wheat – 2 parts
- sunflower cake – 1 part
As a result, there is a slightly sour bait, which is not bad at attracting tench. As a bait, it is better to use a dung worm.
Recipe No.3
- 1 part curd
- 2 parts sunflower meal
- 2 parts crushed breadcrumbs.
In this bait, slightly sour cottage cheese works very well.
Recipe No.4
To make the following bait, you should perform the following operations:
- Cottage cheese is taken and kneaded with white bread in a ratio of 1:3.
- As a result, the dough will be obtained, from which a plate is made, having a thickness of about 1 cm.
- The record is placed on a brick and placed in a hot oven for a while.
- As soon as the plate begins to turn yellow and emit a pleasant aroma, it is removed from the oven.
- Pieces of such bait are placed in bait balls with earth and thrown to the fishing point.
- Balls are formed from the same plates, which are mounted on a hook.
Feeder bait for tench
As a rule, tench is caught with a feeder in a clean place, and a special bait recipe is used. As an option, it is possible to use ready-made purchased mixtures, but home-made bait is mainly used.
To make bait for catching tench with a feeder, you need to take:
- 0,5 kg of fishmeal;
- 0,5 kg of breading flour;
- 1 or 2 drops of hemp oil;
- 0,1 kg chopped worm or maggot.
- First, the fish and breadcrumbs are brought to a brown color in a pan.
- 250 ml of water is taken and hemp oil is added there, after which it is thoroughly mixed.
- All other ingredients are added here, while the mixture is constantly mixed.
- By adding water or dry ingredients, the desired consistency of bait is achieved.
- In this case, the main bait is the red dung worm.
Flavors for line bait
To make fishing more productive, you should add to the bait flavors. Flavors can be artificial, which can be purchased at fishing stores, or natural, which can grow directly in the garden. You need to be very careful with purchased ones, since their dose is calculated in drops and an overdose is absolutely undesirable, but you can experiment with natural ones as much as you like. Of the natural flavors, it is worth noting:
- cumin seeds;
- chopped garlic;
- coriander;
- hemp seeds;
- cocoa powder.
If seeds of some plants are used, then they should be fried in a pan and passed through a coffee grinder. When using garlic, it is crushed on a grater or in a garlic maker. When adding flavors, you need to pay attention to the freshness of the product.
When preparing bait, flavors are introduced at the final stage of preparation or after preparation, when the main ingredients are already ready (cooked). As for the addition of seeds (whole), they are boiled together with the main ingredients. If these are seeds ground on a coffee grinder, then they should also be added after preparing the bulk of the bait. It is very important to prepare the bait of the required consistency, especially for feeder fishing. The mixture should be washed out of the feeder in no more than 5 minutes, so the tackle should be checked quite often.
Bait and feeding fish
Tench is an interesting and very tasty fish. No wonder in the past it was called the royal fish. It is very important to feed the tench correctly, not in large doses, so that it can stay in the place of fishing for a long time. Bait is added at the moment when the bite begins to weaken or stop altogether. Tench is very rarely caught by anglers, so you have to work hard to catch this delicious fish.
