Do-it-yourself Ardo dishwasher repair

If the dishwasher does not fill with water or the washing cycle does not start, do not rush to contact the service center. Do-it-yourself Ardo dishwasher repair.

In this article we will tell you how to find the cause of the breakdown of Italian technology, fix it at home.

Error codes for Ardo dishwashers are collected and described in detail in a separate article.

Causes of breakdowns of the Ardo dishwasher

The Ardo dishwasher has sensitive electronics that are constantly exposed to voltage surges. This is one of the main causes of equipment breakdowns. If the main module malfunctions, the machine does not work, the panel does not respond to pressing, the started washing cycle lasts indefinitely until you disconnect the PMM from the network.

There are other failures:

  1. Overflow of water. A constant intake or drain indicates a malfunction of the level sensor (pressure switch), which controls the water level in the tank. Repair will not work, you can only replace the pressure switch tube.
  2. Leak. Hoses could wear out, loose connections. The tank of the car is also inspected at the time of the leak. The float switch, which sends a leak signal, is also checked.
  3. High power consumption may indicate a problem with the heater. Why? Due to hard water, the heating element is covered with scale. It becomes more difficult for him to heat water, more energy is expended.
  4. Blockage in the system. If the dishwasher does not take on water or does not drain it after washing dishes, check the system for a blockage. Remains of food, fragments of dishes can clog filters and hoses.
  5. Incorrect connection of the PMM to communications also leads to problems with the operation of the equipment.

See below for how to troubleshoot your own. Pay attention to the scoreboard of the machine: often in the event of a malfunction, the system issues an error code. It indicates a specific breakdown of equipment.

How to repair the Ardo dishwasher with your own hands

There is a simple problem that probably happened to every dishwasher after a year or two of operation – this is a blockage. We will figure out how to get rid of it and in what sequence to disassemble the parts. But first, let’s talk about what to do before disassembly.

Water does not enter the tank

What to do:

  1. Check for water in the plumbing.
  2. Turn the stopcock. Maybe it was covered.
  3. If there is insufficient pressure in the water supply, wait for the resumption or call a specialist.

If everything is in order, go to the next paragraph.

Eliminate blockage in the system

The problem can manifest itself in different ways, depending on which part of the machine is clogged.

If you turn on the Ardo PMM, but water is not drawn into the tank, check the filling system.

  • Disconnect the equipment from the network and turn off the water supply.
  • Unscrew one end of the inlet hose from the machine body, the other end from the pipeline.
  • Rinse the hose under running water.
  • Then take out the mesh filter. It is located at the intake valve inlet.
  • Clean it of impurities.
  • Check the filling valve, its tube could be clogged. In this case, you need to open the clamp, disconnect and clean the hose.
  • The valve itself is checked for serviceability with a multimeter. In the event of a breakdown, the part must be replaced.

If the water is normally poured, but does not leave after washing, clean the drain channel:

  • Open the hopper door.
  • Pull out the baskets and dish trays.
  • At the bottom is a filter – pull it up and pull it out.
  • If there is a metal mesh underneath, also remove it.
  • Clean the parts under running water with a brush.
  • Behind the filter is a drain pump. Before you get to it, you need to remove the water from the hole. Use a kitchen sponge for this.
  • Remove the pump cover by pressing and pulling it towards you.
  • Inspect the pump impeller. Remove dirt.

Have you noticed that the dishes are not washed well? Inspect the sprinkler nozzles, they may also be clogged. The fix is simple: remove the spray arm and clean with a toothpick under running water.

We solve leakage problems

What is checked:

  1. The tank is inspected for damage. If it is proven to be leaking, it will have to be replaced.
  2. The tightness of the hoses and their connections is checked.
  3. Looking at the door. Found that the door is leaking? Then replace the seals. This is easy to do: remove the old seal around the perimeter of the door, install a similar one in the seat.
  4. It is also worth checking how tightly the door closes. Perhaps the hinges are loose and need to be tightened.

We replace the heater

If the machine has stopped heating water, there may be several reasons:

  • the wiring of the heater has deteriorated;
  • the heating element relay on the control board burned out;
  • The heater has been scaled up or burnt out.

How to replace:

  1. Remove all trays from the tank.
  2. Take out the filter and drain the water.
  3. Lay the dishwasher “on its back”, after placing a rag.
  4. The heater is connected to the pump with a rubber fastener.
  5. Detach the mount.
  6. Disconnect the heater wiring.
  7. Remove the clamp from the nozzle and pull the part out of the body.

Install the new element in reverse order. If burnt wires are found during inspection, they must be replaced.

Proper dishwasher installation

After purchasing the equipment, before performing the installation, look at the instructions. It details how to properly connect communications. If the connection is incorrect, there will be a constant intake and discharge of water.

If you are not sure that you can connect the hoses, call the wizard.

Replacing the electronic module

Unfortunately, you can find out about a module malfunction only by external signs. For example:

  • indicators on the panel flash randomly;
  • keys do not respond to pressing;
  • the washing program takes longer than usual.

In fact, there are many signs. Diagnostics in the service center will help to accurately determine the breakdown. But you can replace the module yourself:

  • open the door and unscrew the six screws on top;
  • remove the control panel;
  • disconnect the black wire;
  • release the module wire latches.

As you can see, you can fix the Ardo dishwasher with your own hands. To avoid a malfunction, follow the rules specified in the PMM instructions.
