In hot weather, however, many people would gladly give up the mask in favor of a helmet in which it is easier to breathe. But does it offer adequate protection?

To prevent coronavirus infection, you should:

  1. often wash your hands with soap and water or, if this is not possible, disinfect them with an appropriate liquid with a minimum content of 70%. alcohol. Washing hands is a very important element of the prevention of coronavirus infection. By washing your hands, we significantly reduce the risk of getting COVID-19;
  2. do not touch your eyes, mouth and nose – this is the easiest way to transmit the virus to yourself;
  3. wash and disinfect the surfaces we touch every day – it is enough to wash the surfaces with soap and water. Therefore, it is worth cleaning door handles, handrails, countertops, desks or the TV remote control;
  4. disinfect your mobile phone and put it aside while eating meals – the phone is a source of many pathogenic microorganisms, and therefore it can also be a source of coronavirus infection;
  5. keep a distance from the interlocutor – approx. 1-2 meters;
  6. try to remember to cover your face when you sneeze or cough – just cover your face with a handkerchief or your elbow;
  7. eat healthy and hydrate your body – remember to eat an easily digestible diet and drink at least 2 liters of water every day;
  8. look for information about the coronavirus in proven sources.

Can helmets protect us against coronavirus infection?

The visor is an essential element of the entire protective suit. When wearing a visor, it is also worth remembering about a mask, a cap, gloves or a barrier apron. It is natural, however, that we do not move around the street in such attire every day.

The helmet itself also protects against coronavirus infection. It should be sealed around the forehead with a cap or a barrier sponge. Thanks to this, it will protect our eyes against coronavirus in particles of saliva or water vapor from the mouth of a sick person. However, this mainly applies to people working in the health sector.

The helmet is recommended especially to people working in professions such as shop assistants or cashiers, who are also at high risk of coronavirus infection. These people may wear helmets if their workstation is separated from the customers by an additional protective screen. At the same time, it is worth wearing a visor in combination with a mask and gloves.
