Recently it became known that in the Krasnodar Territory vaccination of domestic animals will soon be carried out. In particular, we are talking about pets such as dogs and cats. According to the head of the state veterinary service of the Kuban Roman Krivonos, vaccinations will be carried out with a special vaccine – “Karnivak-Kov”. It is she who is the world’s first drug against COVID-19 for animals.
Back in April, the first batch of vaccine was produced in a volume of 17 thousand doses, writes but this is not the end at all. Several veterinary departments of the region have already applied for its delivery to the region.
It is assumed that in the near future, other regions will begin to actively purchase the vaccine to protect pets from a dangerous infection. The veterinarian Ekaterina Borshchova explained how much this is necessary for every person who owns a cat or dog.
Previously, vaccines for cats and dogs were only intended to protect against intestinal coronavirus infection. Veterinarians shouldn’t have used them due to the current outbreak, as intestinal and respiratory viruses are completely different variants of COVID-19. Since the situation has changed now, it is worth thinking about vaccinating your pet in order to protect it from infection and the consequences caused by this dangerous disease. Remember that the animal can carry the infection asymptomatically, and therefore, if the pet does not show signs of illness, this does not mean that it is not infected.
