Dmitry Malikov held a “Music Lesson” in Volgograd
The Music Lesson, which included a charity concert, was held at the Tsaritsyn Opera Theater. It was attended by children from music schools in Volgograd. To get to the master class with Dmitry Malikov and play with him at the concert, the participants passed a serious selection. The jury chose the choir of the children’s theater “Sady Si-Mi-Re-Mi-Do” of the children’s music school No. 5 in Volgograd; a trio of students from the VGIIK Central School of Arts; piano duet of students of the Volgograd Conservatory named after P.A. Serebryakova Nikita Melikhova and Anna Likhotnikova; students of Ruslan Khokhlachev’s Children’s Music School No. 13 and Nikolai Zemlyansky’s Music School No. 2.
The main idea of the project, according to Dmitry Malikov, is the transfer of knowledge from the master to future stars. Before the concert, each participant had the cherished 10 minutes with the maestro.
“Nikita and I played with Dmitry Malikov in“ six hands ”the famous“ Flight of the Bumblebee ”by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov,” the young pianist Anna Likhotnikova shared with Woman’s day. – On stage with Dmitry it was very comfortable, I still can’t believe that we had such a chance.

During the concert, Dmitry Malikov gave advice on how to motivate children to learn music:
– It is important to give kids to play music, because music changes and develops people.
– Don’t let your kids get lazy. Make them play a little bit every day. When my father went on tour, he put his belt on the piano so that I would remember about the punishment for disobedience. I threw off this belt at the piano and did not really try to study. Returning home, dad already forgot about everything. Going on the next tour, he again left the belt in the same place. I threw it off again. Everything was revealed only when dad had nothing to gird his trousers with.
– Pay attention to the approach to teaching children, the teacher to whom you send your child. He should be a rather diplomatic person, tactful so as not to discourage the child from making music.
– Give children the opportunity to choose the musical direction in which they will develop. They should like what they do.
– While the children are very young, play beautiful songs at home so that the music is a pleasant home background.
– Take your child to concerts and music workshops so that the musicians can amaze him with their skills. There was one such concert in my life in 1986. I was 16 then. The outstanding pianist Vladimir Horowitz came to Moscow. I managed to get to the rehearsal and the concert. After that, I looked at what I was doing in a completely different way.
