Dizziness – what could be the causes?

Dizziness is a general term that includes various and subjective sensations, therefore it cannot be precisely defined.

By dizziness, we understand the feeling of static uncertainty or inadequate relationship to the surrounding space, combined with a feeling of anxiety and discomfort, imbalance, wobbling, rising or falling of the ground, swimming, light head, and even fainting.

The reasons

• Diseases of the inner ear:

– Ménière’s disease,

– labyrinthitis,

– blood circulation disorders in the labyrinth,

– toxic damage to the labyrinth (drugs),

– labyrinth injuries,

– chronic exposure to noise.

• Diseases of the nervous system:

– vascular diseases, especially circulatory failure in the basilar artery,

– brain tumors,

– inflammation of the vestibular neuron,

– multiple sclerosis,

– epilepsy,

– ordinary and cervical migraine,

– neuroses,

– motion sickness,

– the so-called mild positional dizziness.

• Systemic, organ and other diseases:

– hypertension, hypertension,

– Heart arythmia,

– atherosclerosis,

– hypoglycemia,

– menopausal period,

– eye diseases.
