DIY wall clock decor

An old bicycle tire and a colorful poster transform this watch into a true work of modern art. Your friend simply cannot help but appreciate such a gift, as well as the fact that they are made with your own delicate hands.

For work you will need: poster, clockwork, hands, bicycle tire, printed dial, pencil, white and black acrylic paint, tape measure, brush, puncher, saw, chipboard, silicate and PVA glue.

Clock decor

  • Photo 1, 2. The future “frame” (tire) and the poster are combined to select the most appropriate fragment of the image. Appropriate marks are made on the poster, the excess is cut off. Then the “pattern” is transferred to the chipboard.
  • Photo 3, 4. According to the “pattern”, a rectangle is cut out of the chipboard using a saw.

  • Photo 1, 2. The poster moistened from the back is glued to the chipboard using PVA glue.
  • Photo 3. A black acrylic paint is applied to a bicycle tire with a brush.
  • Photo 4. Numbers are cut out of the dial in random order and attached with silicate glue.

  • Photo 2. A small hole is drilled in the workpiece. It is needed to install the clockwork and hands.
  • Photo 3. The tire is slightly (the brush should be almost dry) tinted with white paint. This will make the “frame” look a little shabby, and its texture will become more pronounced. Then a blank is inserted inside the tire.
  • Photo 4. The work has been completed.
