You can decorate an outfit, a hairstyle, give a unique charm and sophistication to the interior with the help of delicate and charming flowers from organza – a thin but rather tough fabric that can be given almost any shape.
To make this flower with your own hands, you will need: – shreds of organza; – candle or lighter; – beads or beads; – threads to match the fabric; – thin needle; – scissors.
Draw a flower pattern with symmetrical petals, there can be three, four or five, depending on how lush you want your flower to be.
Place the organza shreds on top of each other. Place the pattern on top of this fabric stack. Secure it with a thin tailor pin. Cut all the pieces at the same time along the outline of the template.
To make the petals take on a beautiful fantasy shape, hold them over a candle flame or over a lighter for a few seconds. Do this very carefully, as you can easily burn yourself, and the fabric also heats up quickly.
Try not to hold the workpiece too long over a fire, so as not to scorch its edges.
Connect all the details of the flower. Fold them on top of each other and sew in the middle with a few stitches. Craftsmen recommend using a thin needle, as the thick one will leave ugly holes that will be too noticeable.
Sew several large beads into the core of the organza flower. You can make stamens from beads by stringing the beads on a fishing line and sew them in the center of the product.
Make a pattern for the rose petals. At its base is a rectangle 5,5 cm long and 3,5 cm wide. Round off the upper corners of the pattern.
Cut 13-15 pieces out of organza according to the pattern. Gently scorch the edges of the petals over a candle flame or with a lighter.
Take one petal and roll it into a tube. You should get a bud. Secure it with a few stitches at the bottom. Take the next petal and wrap it around the bud, also secure with a few stitches at the bottom.
Sew the bottom of the rest of the petals with a seam over the edge and pull it off a little. Wrap them around the bud and secure with stitches. Bend the top of the petals a little, giving them the shape of rose petals.
Cut a circle 2–2,5 cm in diameter from cardboard or felt of a suitable color, depending on the size of the flower. Apply a few drops of glue to the bottom of the garment and glue it to the mug. Let the flower dry for a couple of hours.
Cut out circles of the same diameter from organza. Their size and number depends on how lush you want the flower to be. Cut out another circle of felt to match the organza.
Instead of a felt mug, you can take a cotton pad for the base
Fold the organza circle 4 times. Attach it to the edge of the warp and sew with a few stitches by hand. If you want to speed up your work, you can do it on a sewing machine.
Fold all other circles in the same way and sew along the edge, like the first petal. Next, do the next row. Place the circle folded 4 times on the base so that it half covers the petals of the outer row.
Continue sewing on the parts until the entire space of the base is filled. Spread the petals, giving them the shape of a carnation.
