1st step: choose the themes
The Glasses family, the Piscine family, the Grimace family, the Mustache family… there is no shortage of ideas and if you are short of inspiration, do not hesitate to ask the children for their opinions. As we are talking about 7 families, everyone can give at least one idea (unless you have more than 7 children at home).
2nd step: select photos
Everyone has agreed to include a Glasses family in the game but you realize that no one is wearing them? Print photos of each and draw glasses with indelible marker. Or, do a little photo montage. Several online applications and software allow you to add loads of accessories in two, three clicks. Do the same for each family in your game, letting your inspiration guide you. If there are not enough of you, include photos of the grandparents. Besides, it will be fun to add a mustache to Grandma (among other options).
3rd step: personalize the cards
It would be a good start if you already had a deck of cards in the house, even if it is not those of the 7 families. Otherwise, get card stock, very thin plywood, or other backing, as long as it is stiff. Then you just have to paste your photos on it. Remember to write the name of the family above or below the photos so that the players do not get lost.
4th step: don’t forget the back of the cards
With the exception of children’s card games, the back is often gloomy. You can remedy it with the help of children. On a white piece of paper, draw a rainbow, stars, skulls (why not?) And decorate your cards with them. All you have to do is place everything in a small container that you will also have the prospect of personalizing.
