DIY cookie cutters

Do you dream that dishes become original, unique? Do you want to please your guests with delicious original pastries, to have original secrets? It’s time to make a baking dish with your own hands! This will make it possible to add novelty and originality to even familiar recipes.

DIY molds: choose material

Everything you need to create a mold with your own hands is probably already in your kitchen. These are all kinds of bendable cans. The following container is suitable for work:

  • aluminum cans for carbonated drinks;
  • tin packaging of condensed milk, coffee, corn, etc .;
  • large aluminum baking dishes;
  • plastic bottles.

The main criterion in the choice is that the future device can be cut / bent. The material must be flexible enough.

Experiment with the size: for a small cookie cutter with your own hands, a 0,3 liter can is suitable, for larger baked goods – a 0,5-1 liter beer can.

Glasses with a pattern on their legs will help to create a beautiful pattern. Just stamp it on the test. Or, if you want to bake the cookie rolls, use two folded spoons as a base.

How to make DIY cookie cutters

Do it yourself from aluminum cans and plastic bottles with your own hands:

  • cut strips of aluminum. For small pieces, cut the can across, for large pieces, cut it lengthwise. The ideal strip width is about 5 centimeters;
  • draw on paper the outline in the form of which you want to bake cookies;
  • bend the strips by attaching them to the paper outline;
  • glue the ends of the mold with superglue.

It is important to remember that the edges of aluminum cuts are sharp and dangerous. Polish them with emery or a nail file. You can use ready-made models a day after their creation. This will completely eliminate the smell of glue.

If you are making tin molds, you will need pliers. With their help, you can give the container the desired appearance: folds, lines, corners. You can make a heart, a triangle and even an asterisk from cans.

It is physically more difficult to make cookie shapes from cans, but they are more convenient to use. You can press on the jar with your entire palm to cut the dough, on the aluminum strip – only with your fingers.

For mini cupcakes, you can make disposable baking paper molds. To do this, we take as a basis a metal mold with a bottom, cut out a circle from parchment according to its size + about 2 cm to the diameter. We wet the paper circle, put it in a metal mold, insert another into it to fix the shape. After drying, you need to carefully trim the edges – and you can use it.

Be creative and experiment!
