DIY Christmas toys: making a Christmas tree

For one designer, a Christmas tree is a live coniferous branch with a fragrant tangerine, for another – a conical high-tech structure, and for a third – a mountain of pillows. Our green beauty will be pleasant to stroke even children’s fingers.

Christmas tree made of pillows

Materials:

  • Scraps of green and silver cloth
  • Syntepon
  • Thin Silver Cord
  • Small plastic flower pot
  • Rope
  • Silver spray paint

Tools:

  • Glue gun
  • long needle
  1. Cut out 2 pieces of stars of each size from the green and silver fabric. Pin them in pairs with the right sides inward and sew along the edge, leaving a small hole for turning.
  2. Turn out every tier detail and fill it with padding polyester. Sew the hole with a blind stitch.
  3. Collect all the stars with a pyramid and using a long needle (a special needle for sewing dolls and soft toys is convenient) sew them together. Use thick thread folded in half to sew.

  • Sew the smallest star to the top of the pyramid, positioning it perpendicular to the tiers.
  • Rope a small plastic pot with a glue gun. Spray it with a silver spray paint. Tie a thin silver cord around the tree like a gift box. Place the tree on a pot stand. The secret of this tree is that a small gift can be hidden in a pot.

By the way

Using the pyramid principle, you can sew small Christmas tree decorations – this is especially convenient if you have small children. The shape of the tiers-“pads” can be arbitrary.
