Floristic master class: how to make a wedding bouquet at home using the trendiest flowers of this year.
The bride’s bouquet is a floral aerobatics composition that requires maximum skill. It seems incredible that an unprofessional florist can make it with his own hands, but we will try to convince you of this.
We need:
DIY bridal bouquet
- five cymbidium orchid flowers,
- a few green sprigs of salal,
- two or three ostrich feathers,
- a small piece of light lace fabric for wrapping bouquets,
- five floristic flasks,
- floral tape tape,
- coconut fiber,
- thin wire – “broth”,
- five or six thin white sticks,
- plastic floristic ribbon in the same color as the lace,
- tools: knife, scissors and stapler.

We will prepare floristic flasks in which our flowers can keep their freshness for a long time. Pour water into the flasks and close the lids. Now they need to be decorated. We wrap the cones with coconut fiber, fixing it with a “broth” wire. We also wind the wire on the plug of each bulb.
We prune our orchids and immediately insert the flowers into floristic cones (the less the flower cut is in contact with the air, the better).
We cut ostrich feathers into 3-4 parts, depending on their length.
Using tape tape, attach the feathers to the white sticks. Please note: each next turn of the winding should slightly overlap the previous one, and the feather fibers should only be directed upward.
We cut the plastic tape into two identical strips about 50-60 cm long. We attach pieces of feathers to the ends of the tape using a wire – charming, fluffy tips.
The preparatory part is over, we are starting to draw up the bouquet. The flower heads should be at the same level, and the feathers should be placed just above the flowers so that they are clearly visible in the bouquet. The greenery of the salal between the flowers will add a special charm to our composition.
We will tie our bouquet with decorative plastic tape. In order for the composition not to disintegrate, it must be bandaged high enough. After that, we will very carefully cut the stems with a secateurs.
We wrap the bouquet with lace fabric. The fabric should cover the ends of the stems slightly. We fix the fabric on top in one or two places using a stapler.
Let’s make a decorative bouquet bunch. We will wrap it with our feather ribbons at the same level at which we made the inner bunch.
