Every mother knows that in the fall, not a single walk with a child is complete without rustling the leaves and looking for the most beautiful among them. The apartment is filled with bouquets of fallen leaves and plucked twigs. Summer colors are being replaced by a variety of autumn colors – warm, cozy.
Autumn bouquets are most often collected by children. They see beauty where we, adults, have long forgotten how to notice it. But what if you stop for a moment and put aside all your affairs, look around, enjoy autumn and try to collect an autumn bouquet yourself or with your children, which will be an excellent interior decoration and create an atmosphere of golden autumn at home. Try it!
How to make an autumn bouquet with your own hands
Making a bouquet is always a flight of fancy. Autumn bouquets are often collected only from maple leaves, but if you look closely, you can see the beauty of other plants – oak, rowan berries, snowberry (by the way, be careful with it – the fruits are poisonous, wash your hands after touching and in no case let you eat their children or pets) or, for example, garlic. After all, autumn is also the time for the harvest, so you can safely include vegetables and fruits in the bouquet.
There is nothing difficult in making a bouquet. All you need is some free time and inspiration. The undoubted advantage is that you will hardly need any improvised items to collect such a bouquet – nature has already prepared everything for you.
So we need the following things.
- Scissors.
- Thread-string. Otherwise, it is also called twine. Can be replaced with a satin ribbon.
- Leaves, branches, berries, fruits or vegetables.
Step 1. Prepare materials
First of all, you need to collect the leaves and branches from which the future bouquet will be made. Feel free to head to the nearest park and start with maple leaves. You will not even notice how you will get a taste and other plants will begin to attract your attention.
At home, once again sort through everything that you managed to collect and spread the plants on the table or on the floor. They can be sorted by category, for example, berries to berries, or by color – green, yellow, red.
Immediately put scissors and twine nearby.
If necessary, trim long branches, cut off excess leaves.
Step 2. Determine the composition
When everything is ready, you need to determine the orientation of the bouquet and the center of the composition. The bouquet can be vertical, then long branches will do. If the bouquet is horizontal, it is better to choose sweeping leaves and short branches. In the center of the composition, focus on bright berries or something from vegetables.
Continue to complement the bouquet, adding as many colors as possible and creating volume. Do not strive to ensure that the branches lie perfectly even, let there be slight negligence. It’s great if you can combine yellow, green, red, crimson, white colors.
Step 3. Final touch
The bouquet should not be made too voluminous, otherwise it will be unstable. When it becomes difficult to hold it with one hand, start tying it with a rope or ribbon. We chose twine, it looks more harmonious with autumn foliage. Wrap several times around the stems and tie in two knots.
Trim the ends of the stems and wrap them tightly with twine. We got about 15 turns.
The bouquet is ready. You can beautifully lay it out, for example, on a chest of drawers or put it in a vase. Enjoy autumn and sunny mood!
