A special envoy from the World Health Organization in an interview with British television Sky News called for more serious treatment of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Dr. David Nabarro, the virus is becoming “too smart” and it is easier and easier to break all immune barriers.
- Europe is facing yet another wave of coronavirus infections
- The Omikron variant, mainly in the BA.4 and BA.5 mutations, is responsible for the present increase in infections
- They are highly infectious mutations. BA.4 and BA.5 also reached Poland
- More current information can be found on the Onet homepage.
The wave of new coronavirus infections in the UK is gaining momentum. According to the Office for National Statistics data, this is mainly due to the rapid spread of BA.4 and BA.5 mutation variants. The death statistics recorded there due to COVID-19 are also worrying. Since the beginning of the pandemic, their number has already exceeded 200.
The virus is “too smart”
According to Dr. Nabarro, the reason for such a sudden and dynamic relapse of the pandemic is that the virus can easily evolve and penetrate immune barriers. “The reason we’re growing is because the virus has changed once more and has become too smart for us,” said the 72-year-old doctor in an interview with Sky News.
According to the British, the increase in coronavirus infection is also influenced by increased socialization, the lifting of epidemic restrictions and people’s failure to comply with precautionary measures, such as wearing face masks. – My appeal to everyone is as follows. Please, this virus hasn’t gone away, it doesn’t kill so many people, but it’s really nastyespecially when you fall ill with COVID-19 debts, a WHO expert said.
The number of people with COVID-19 is growing. The risk of infection is reduced by a mask that you must continue to use in medical clinics and pharmacies. You can buy it at Medonet Mark. The offer includes biodegradable FFP2 masks – 25 pieces.
At the same time, Dr. Nabarro said vaccination against COVID-19 was very successful. He also reminded that it is important to take booster doses, especially among the elderly and diabetics.
According to the latest data published by the Ministry of Health, 1840 cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in Poland last day. Four people have died from COVID-19 and 10 have recovered.
