Distreptaza is a drug in the form of suppositories that are used in the presence of perianal abscesses, fistulas with inflammatory infiltration, purulent cysts of the coccyx, chronic adnexitis, as well as postoperative changes, endometritis and acute and chronic inflammation of hemorrhoids (haemorrhoids). ).
Distreptaza – action
Active substances Dispreptase suppositories are streptodornaza i streptokinase. The excipients of the preparation are liquid paraffin and witepsol H15. Streptokinase is an activator of plasminogen, which under the influence of substances changes into plasmin, which is characterized by blood-dissolving properties. Thanks to the use of streptokinazy, antibiotics or chemotherapeutic agents used in the treatment have easier access to the inflammatory focus, which allows to shorten the treatment time and obtain better results. Streptodornase is an enzyme responsible for dissolving sticky masses of nucleoproteins, pus or dead cells, without affecting healthy cells and their physiological functions.
Distreptaza – dosage
Distreptaza suppositories dosed rectally. Suppository removed from the package should be inserted deep into the rectum with clean fingers. For an adult, the dose is usually 1 suppository twice a day, in severe conditions, 1 suppository three times a day. Treatment Distreptaza suppositories it should not last longer than a week to 10 days, however, it should be remembered that the doses for each patient are determined individually during a medical consultation. Distreptaza suppositories are issued only and exclusively on prescriptionand any deviation from the dose prescribed by the doctor may have negative health consequences.
Distreptaza suppositories must be refrigerated without exposure to light. The drug should be protected from children, after the end of the treatment, it is not allowed to give it to other patients, taking into account one’s own experience and medical recommendations.
Distreptaza – contraindications
Distreptaza suppositorieslike any drug, it cannot be used by all patients. Contraindications for drug treatment Distreptase are: hypersensitivity to any of the substances used in the composition of the drug, as well as pregnancy (or suspicion of it) and breastfeeding. Distreptaza suppositoriesdue to their clotting properties, they should not be taken with anticoagulants. Distreptaza suppositories must not be applied to a wound with a fresh scab or with a recently applied suture, as the action of the drug may cause the wound to reopen and bleed.
Distreptaza – side effects
During the treatment with the preparation Distreptase may occur side effects. Most often, patients are affected by allergic reactions, increased body temperature, less often leukocytosis, oliguria and the presence of bleeding.
Receiving Distreptaza suppositories has no effect on the patient’s ability to drive or operate machinery. According to doctors, accepted Distreptaza suppositories should not be combined with the consumption of even small amounts alcohol.
