Romantic relationships at a distance, with rare meetings — an increasingly frequent phenomenon of modern life.
Surprisingly, such relationships are perceived by partners as more stable. Laura Stafford and Andy Merolla of Ohio State University (USA) explain the seeming paradox by the fact that “remote” communication allows you to idealize your partner more and does not violate the feeling of confidence in him or the constancy of your own life. At the same time, having reunited after a period of such relationships, couples are less stable and less satisfied with their life together than those who did not part from the very beginning.
